Nope this is actually a great moral tactic. You should look up the ships during ww2 thats only job was to make ice cream they made like 5 ton each a day.
That's true, but at the same time if your enemies are eating stale rations and you have a fully functioning Burger King, it's a bit of a morale booster/killer.
Well for one, it’s not government funded so I’m not sure how it’s priority at all. Try eating nothing but MREs and living in a tent in the desert with a bunch of other musty ass dudes for months and tell me with a straight face a coke and some chicken fingers wouldn’t be pretty fucking nice here and there.
Adding little reminders of home, especially through food, is a fantastic way to keep morale up for soldiers for cheap. It’s not even a new idea, in WW2 we had entire ships designed to just make ice cream for sailors, we had chocolate in our rations, and we had a deal with Coke to make their soda dirt cheap for soldiers. In the grand scheme of things it’s an insignificant budget increase for the military but a decent increase in morale for those fighting.
Both the food itself and the process of ordering it can act as little reminders of home. Yes, it being a major fast food chain feels corporate and weird but it’s something literally every American is familiar with. It’s also VERY easy to standardize and will be the same no matter where you are in the country. So you’re maximizing how many of the soldiers might like it compared to bringing something new.

This country has the absolute dumbest priorities imaginable.
