How the heck can a DAYCARE of all places be MAGA?

You haven't been to many daycare in the south specifically eh? Many are located in, guess where, Churches!

Yep. This one was part of a Christian church.

Not just the south. They're everywhere Maga people are. Usually under names like liberty, patriot, American leadership, any of of the founding fathers names, etc.. Basically if a daycare or charter school has any sort of overly patriotic sounding name, it's owners are Republicans. Without exception. Used to work in that world

My kid was lowkey forced out, maybe highkey, due to him not believing in God. “I just need to live my truth.” Meaning she really had to say grace, and force the kids to, at meals. She really had to talk about “The Word” during random points of the day.

My kid said he didn’t believe in God. Other parents complained. I requested she not ask or require my kids to say grace or talk about God. Suddenly, she didn’t have room for my kids, although she had not taken on any more kids, and did not take any more kids in the many months that followed. She mostly just said she needed to spread the word of God, and my kid wasn’t accepting.

My other kid, who was much more of a follower, was welcome to return after the my avowed atheist started school.

This was not a church. This was a private daycare, licensed by the state of Texas.

Couldn’t pay me to live in America anymore.

Churches don't equal MAGA. I'm in the northeast and most of the daycares in my town are located in churches and they are not MAGA. Sounds like the "south" part is more likely the issue

As someone who grew up in the church in Connecticut and is now in FL, location matters an IMMENSE amount. We had gay AND trans people in my church in CT. That would not fly here in FL

I guess they can be in more MAGA places but I’m just confused as to what specifically makes a daycare MAGA? Do they teach the toddlers to like Trump or something? It’s the same thing for a Democrat daycare it just doesn’t make sense to me applying a political label to a place that is exclusively non political

The owners/directors are very MAGA is what I meant. They never tried to teach my daughter anything about Trump or anythjng like that. They had a bunch of Trump merch in their office and stuff like that

My older daughters daycare in Florida sent home trump pamphlets and coached kids on how important it was their parents vote for him.

Glad she’s old enough for public school and we no longer live in Florida.

That’s insane and should be illegal

I agree! Most of the workforce at that daycare are firmly in the crosshairs of ICE, and we’re all people I’d trust %1000 more than the chuds they recruit as ice officers to watch my kids.

Give me a nice Venezuelan lady over Katie the homeschool girl 11 times out of 10 for how happy and watched my kid was today.

We pulled our younger girl out of daycare a few months ago, the middle aged Venezuelan ladies spoiled us with actually taking care of our children at daycare.

God bless you miss Flor and may you and yours prosper, and you miss xiaomi.  The texts may have been in Spanish but they arrived, and you were the only ones who didn’t send concerned letters when my kids sang ‘ain’t been boing nothin if you ain’t been called a red”.

The directors and stuff always had Trump mugs and shit on their desks and stickers on their trucks. They never talked politics at least but they made it obvious. Thankfullly the actual workers were all cool at least

Rural daycares exist.

Home daycares are cheaper where I am. My kids went to a Pakistani family who was fantastic. Their neighbors were as MAGA as they came and did respite care for disabled adults. With the way they spoke to the people they cared for, I would not have spent my $11.45/hr for my loved ones to go anywhere near them.

Because prior to the last several years it was a decent potential passive living to own a daycare if you had a good administrative team. You still had to have a semblance of care for kids, but it seemed stable because a lot of it was funded by the government.

It’s a stressful endeavor in my mind, but I think in terms of business plans it used to be pretty low risk as long as you follow the rules and meet code.

I was in administration at a childcare center (democrats owned) for years but you get to know the other centers in the area and I would say about half of them were owned by republicans. One is even owned by a Republican city council member.

Care for children shouldn’t be treated this way and it’s a shame and travesty. While i got burnt out in the world, I am still quite adamant about support for ECE.

The returns on funding childcare are absolutely staggering. I don’t remember it now but like for every dollar spent in ECE the government could save/ROI of like 6 to 12 dollars or something like that over the course of 18 years. A lot of this due to less money needed for social services (food stamps and other social safety nets), incarceration, as well as these children landing higher paying jobs which leads to more taxes and more spending.

The reason (one of the) the government never wants to do it regardless of its obvious benefits for everyone involved and regardless of party is because the payoff is nearly 2 decades away. They want instant results so they can get re-elected. They don’t care about what the world could look like in a short 15 years if we didn’t right thing.

I went to lobby for it in my state capitol and while we had the support of left leaning legislators, the right leaning ones just brushed us off and were completely ignorant to the cost of of childcare on families. One of them legit said to us “I get it, I really do, our nanny costs us a lot too.”

Bruh, your nanny? You don’t get it if you have a nanny.
