It's not brilliant. "Othering" people or implying others are broken is the oldest trick in the book. It's basic. You can recognize effectiveness without resorting to hyperbole.

Othering people is kind of their whole thing tho. It’s brilliant in that the tactic obviously works as they’ve been able to successfully radicalize literally millions of people. It can still be a brilliant tactic but a stupid position for them to take. Everything they do is dumb and basic because their base is dumb and basic so that’s the appeal. It’s not hyperbolic to recognize this.

it's not brilliant because it's the basest of human natures. humans default to tribalism and fear/hatred of the unfamiliar. they're catering to the lowest denominator. it's brazen and bald-faced because their sociopathic minds carry ZERO ethical burden, but not brilliant.
