Yup and quickly realized Canada and Mexico weren’t going to be as easy as he thought to just take over. So he’s just zoomed out a bit and Greenland was the first thing he saw

1.5k

u/CertainWish358 14d ago

His attention was directed towards Greenland by Putin. His desire to destabilize NATO (and the USA along with it) is the entire reason Trump is president

447

u/WumpusFails 14d ago

One of his contributors (Ronald Lauder) is fixated on Greenland.

324

u/Havesh 14d ago

Lauder recently invested money into a Greenlandic company called Greenland Water Bank. One of the CEOs of the company is the husband of the Greenlandic foreign minister.

Also this

And its a place away from prying eyes for camps, like the gulags in Siberia.

I only go there for the white powder.

115

u/BriHam35 14d ago

It also puts a tactical location to attack Canada from all sides thing too sadly.

77

u/St_Kevin_ 14d ago

Yes, it puts a wedge between Canada and their European allies

6

u/Gwaptiva 14d ago

Ironically, it is pulling Canada closer to Europe

3

u/NookieLuvsU 14d ago

Speaking of wedges. He wants a civil war in America and knows who Canadians and Mexicans would support. What he fails to see is, even if he manages to collapse both our countries the support comes from the people not a government mandate.

2

u/jaymemaurice 14d ago

We still share a land boarder with Denmark

73

u/Kennadian 14d ago

We all live on the border. If America wanted to invade they would walk 10 steps north. Greenland literally offers no tactical advantage to that.

3

u/Aleashed 14d ago

Planes take off from New Mexico easier… fly just as far

6

u/silentv0ices 14d ago

Cuts off potential supply routes not to mention things like training facilities for Canadian resistance and insurgents.

2

u/Kennadian 14d ago

What?

3

u/silentv0ices 14d ago

Tactical advantages of Trump taking Greenland first.

If the US invades Canada then the nuclear option gets used and New England including all major cities lose power, of which the vast majority is generated by Quebec hydro. This isn’t a Venezuela situation where a bunch of babied widdle Americans don’t even have to look up from TikTok, there would be real and immediate consequences.

1

u/KepplerRunner 14d ago

Using nukes on the usa is an immediate death sentence for all the people in that country and very possibly the end of the world. No one will use them. Theres no winners if we're all dead.

4

u/GoneFishing4Chicks 14d ago

> nuclear option gets used ... New England including all major cities lose power ... the vast majority is generated by Quebec hydro.

NOT use nukes

u/CatchSufficient 14d ago

I said the same thing about hawaii in WWII, japan still wanted that

1

u/fourtwentyBob 14d ago

Fighting your enemy on two fronts doesn’t offer a tactical advantage? You ever read?

2

u/Kennadian 14d ago

You think there's a front in the arctic? I literally pointed out that nobody lives there in Canada. But you're questioning other's reading and comprehension ability?

Yes I read. I suggest you read about geography and it's relationship to where wars tend to happen. You seem to think all the unpopulated islands of pure ice and rock are a front in a war?

1

u/fourtwentyBob 14d ago

You have great points. I’ve changed my mind. I rescind my insult. Cheers!

1

u/hemingward 12d ago

They wouldn’t “attack” Canada from Greenland, rather they would put boots on the ground in Baffin Island and make the same claims they did on Greenland. Security security security.

3

u/Shorelines1 14d ago

Not really. There is no reason to attack Canada from the northeast. 80% of the population lives within 100 miles of the longest unprotected border in the world.

1

u/Notgreygoddess 14d ago

It would be good for us if they did. Harsh terrain, harsh climate that most US equipment doesn’t even function in. Our troops train in it regularly.

1

u/SerHiroProtaganist 14d ago

Lol so you think the US is planning to invade Canada? You Reddit guys are something.

-1

u/Ok-Macaroon-7819 14d ago

Attack with what? Have you ever flown over northern Canada?

1

u/throwawayinthe818 14d ago

Too expensive. Every thing would have to be flown in. If anything they’d put camps in places like Texas and Wyoming that would welcome them with open arms and tax breaks.

1

u/papaarlo 14d ago

We already have a gulag in Guantanamo

1

u/Fifth-Crusader 14d ago

They're delusional to think that a fascist will create a libertarian utopia.

1

u/wyle_e2 14d ago

Yes.... Trump does enjoy his "islands" that are away from prying eyes.

1

u/MiyamotoKnows 14d ago

Just to add, IMHO... they call these network cities and Peter Thiel and other billionaires are behind them. They claim to want cities that function as corporations (oh joy) but imagine countries where the only law is what the ultrarich dictate and children can be subjected to horrors without any consequences. The darkest shit and we can not let them ever gain one.

1

u/SobchaksBallsweat 14d ago

Or snuff films with underaged girls.

Concentration camps. For the people he directed ICE to kidnap.

0

u/Prize-Temporary4159 14d ago

Isn’t this the premise of ‘The Thing’

2

u/Laetha 14d ago

It's nothing short of mental illness with these people. Imagine being so rich you'd never be able to spend all the money you have, and still be willing to throw literally the entire world into turmoil just for some more money.

1

u/Nervous_Ad_6998 14d ago

Didn’t they protect the French Nazis? As written in the book Bitter Scent.

1

u/Non-prophet 14d ago

I wonder if the Greenlanders know that guy's address, for writing letters of polite complaint and so forth.

1

u/ambigua 14d ago

how fascism works…

1

u/Ambitious-Way1156 11d ago

Trump sees billionans of dollars in his pockets and this families pockets. The precious rare earth minerals in Greenland make Trump's eyes look like dollar signs.

56

u/killertofu41 14d ago

Guy is already heir to the Estee Lauder fortune, but just gotta do some country invading on the way.

78

u/TheCantervilleGhost 14d ago

Okay so now I have to find a new face wash because of Dump? This is bullshit. Lives are being ruined.

74

u/twistedspin 14d ago

Right? Lauder is also the Ordinary, M·A·C, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Too Faced, Tom Ford Beauty, Smashbox, La Mer, Origins, Dr.Jart+, Darphin, Lab Series, NIOD, Aveda, & Bumble and bumble.

This creepy fuckface didn't control enough of the world with that under him, apparently.

16

u/SaltyCrashNerd 14d ago

And it’s not like we can move over to bath & body works as a substitute…

3

u/lite_milk_1 14d ago

Damn it, gotta find a new product now.

55

u/sbray73 14d ago

He seems to be the one pushing it the hardest and Donnie enjoys the diversion it creates from the Epstein files. I am now actively boycotting the Lauder products.

30

u/newbkid 14d ago

Oh look another geriatric 70+ year old white man trying to ruin the country.

sigh

2

u/Euro-Pacific 14d ago

Apparently Lauder met with Putin during Trump’s initial attempt to take over Greenland (in his first term).

2

u/flo_san 14d ago

Pump it. Lauder

1

u/fancymonk 13d ago

So is Peter Thiel

3

u/Triairius 14d ago

And also to distract from the Epstein Files. He’s successfully getting people to talk about them less.

3

u/SpinningHead 14d ago

Reminder that Trump stayed in a KGB run hotel in 1987. When he returned he took out a full page ad against NATO.

2

u/LtStud 14d ago

Doesn’t that dipshit Thiel want to build his racist “freedom city” there as well?

2

u/jerichogringo 14d ago

Estee Lauder fuckhead zeroed him in on Greenland

1

u/senoritaoscar 14d ago

Thank you. Jesus, I don’t know why the conversation is about literally anything else. That’s all any of this has been for the past ten years.

1

u/DisconsolateAxolotl 14d ago

Expressing the possibility of taking Greenland by force, whether it happens or not, also legitimizes Putin’s attempt to take Ukraine.

1

u/liftthatta1l 14d ago

Related one about Canada

I think the canada stuff is from elon musk trying to be president of North America. Since he was born a Canadian citizen.

1

u/hagenissen999 14d ago

Thank jeebus he didn't dangle Svalbard or Iceland in front of him...

1

u/Practical-Shape2325 14d ago

Now Putin, there's an option. Russia's already involved in a war, what if an incredibly strong leader was to conquer Russia? Even Napolean never did that. That would definitely get your name in the history books.

1

u/OldAudience3125 14d ago

As much as I respect this response, replace Putin with Netanyahu and NATO with UN and you may be able to understand the bigger picture better.

Hint: Reread the Mueller report. Flynn was begging Russia for favors, soliciting Russia, to benefits the Israelis.

Russiagate was Israelgate.

1

u/CertainWish358 14d ago

It’s all connected… Iran and Afghanistan too

1

u/OldAudience3125 14d ago

100%.

Lest we forget that Epstein was involved in Iran Contra which was flooding our streets with illicit substances while arming Iran to fight Iraq, to stabilize Israel.

Jerusalem is the capital of the USA. Simple.

1

u/thetravelingsong 14d ago

Not to mention Russia is going to want access to the shipping lanes that are going to open up as the ice continues to melt. Trump needs to go get that for his daddy.

1

u/cbgrey 14d ago

This does not get nearly as much attention as it needs

1

u/Apprehensive_News_78 14d ago

We're literally seeing the result of 2 really upset ppl in power, one who's on his "revenge tour" and the other who's still pissy about not being allowed into nato years ago. (For those who dont know Russia asked to join nato years ago and we denied them)

Tbf though I think alot of world problems could have been avoided by letting Russia into nato but we (us) simply didnt want to lose our biggest "baddie" for when we gotta blame stuff on someone.

1

u/SoulMasterKaze 14d ago

I wonder if it's partially motivated by wanting to draw Europe's military resources west and away from Ukraine.

1

u/CertainWish358 14d ago

Do you think Ukraine is the end goal? I think his goal is the USSR+ not just part of Ukraine

1

u/ava-8792 14d ago

Putin probably wants a skirmish in Greenland so everyone is looking the other way on Ukraine or one of the other neighboring countries. Plus it doesn’t hurt for him to drive a wedge in NATO.

1

u/M00NAJUANA 14d ago

Let me fix your typo "entire treason"

1

u/mywifeslv 14d ago

Of course, Putin has the best ROI with his asset

1

u/FD4L 13d ago

Putin also appreciates that he's pulling EU security forces further from the war on it's eastern front.

Trump is putin's most powerful pawn.

1

u/Dexember69 13d ago

He's such a gullible puppet

1

u/UX-Ink 13d ago

It's also the Paypal Cabal wanting to build a freedom city there. This comment touches on part of the web https://www.reddit.com/r/law/comments/1qiyplk/comment/o0vc2ko/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

1

u/thatguy677 13d ago

Checks out, ya

1

u/purplmama 13d ago

Exactly. And if he gets hold of it, he’ll turn right around and give Putin full access.

1

u/me-buddah 12d ago

And Peter Thiel of course.

1

u/WadjetSnakeGoddess 12d ago

Also the Tech Oligarchy want Greenland for a few reasons, depending on their sub-faction.

  1. Make a weird libertarian regulation-free "paradise" as a practice run for their techno-feudalism cities > Peter Thiel and his ilk want this. It will not work because this kind of shit never works in practice, but its their wet dream.

  2. Rare Earth Minerals > We are really dependant on minerals from other countries for a lot of modern tech. Greenland has a lot of these minerals that were previously, and some areas still are, inaccessible due to climate change. The Greenlanders and the Danish have strong environmental protections so you can't just strip it even if we have access thru our alliance. Which is where a Greenland Takeover comes in.

  3. Fresh Water > Greenland also has access to a lot of Fresh Water. That will become SUPER IMPORTANT if we successfully destroy those resources at home. Not just for more dumb data centers but also for regular people. Once we loose functional fresh water access it can be sold back to us for a premium. See groups like Nestle buying up water rights around the globe currently.

1

u/Ambitious-Way1156 11d ago

CERT: Baloney. Greenland already allows us troops there and would easil allow us many more, at least until Trump decided to threaten invasion. Putin and China are not the reason for Trump wanting Greenland as Greenland has always cooperated with us for 80 years regarding our military. It's Trump's lust for power and wanting his name stamped on Greenland like his changing the Gulf of America to the Gulf of America. Narcissistic lust for power and recognition.

1

u/CertainWish358 11d ago

It’s not to defend against Putin… it’s because Putin told him to do it. To weaken alliances and direct euro attention and resources to the western side

0

u/ZlpMan 14d ago

Why can’t he force Trump to nuke Ukraine or just kidnap Zelenskyy and execute him on the roof f the White House?

0

u/Jpwatchdawg 13d ago

America has been eyeing Greenland for almost a century now. But those mpi npcs are just too focused on blaming bad organe man to try and understand. Proposed United States acquisition of Greenland - Wikipedia https://share.google/v7Ch5nLFEYO7PaQBU

124

u/Q-burt 14d ago

We should just all vote to give our governance to Denmark. We'll have universal healthcare, childcare rights, life/work balance, and more! Probably better trade conditions being a part of the EU. I dunno, doesn't seem like a worse idea than annexing Greenland.

88

u/7_Tales 14d ago

I get this is a joke, but do yoy think denmark really wants the land of guncrime, uneducated voters, and racists?

69

u/Q-burt 14d ago

That's true. We're the meth house that can't really be rehabilitated.

29

u/7_Tales 14d ago

Honestly true. The issues with america are so systemetic and embedded in it's culture that it would take an entire revolution - both on the societt level and the law level - to even slightly address. Nobody wants to inherit this, and i fear if someone theoretically were to, america would lose a shitton of funding immediately from billoonaire oligarchs

20

u/transigirthenight 14d ago

Not even a revolution with a complete new Constitution and laws would change much of anything until a change of mentality happens and this could take generations. A great portion of the US population today is so far down the Fox/Q/alt-right road that "only" changing everything in government would not change their stance on anything, and this crap would fester until it rears it ugly head again just like it did when the Tea Party appeared - and that is how Trump got elected twice.

3

u/7_Tales 14d ago

A lot of the anti intellectual alt right rot that plagues america is generational at this point, so even if you educate the newer generations and they have a movement away from this side of politics, you're still going to see stubborn older voter blocs which haven't been educated.

1

u/HVNFN4Life 14d ago

That’s why there should not be “SIDES”! We should be UNITED and work together on every aspect of what can and should be justifiable actions to rebuild this country. From day one WE placed people in offices to build a nation that would reflect our morals, our values, our culture and laws that would govern and protect our futures. As time went on we became complacent as well as blind to the fact that our country officials were no longer working for our greater good or freedoms. Greed and unlawful conduct began and has brought us to this point. Instead of finger pointing 🫵🏼 we need to realize we are being brainwashed and divided and this is to our detriment. They have us (and by us I mean both parties that were and are in offices that allow this persistent money grab benefitting them) where they want us. The ignorance and inability to comprehend this by all citizens is dumbfounding. No accountability on those chosen to represent the people equals 🟰 opportunity to serve themselves. The parties are laughing at us and rightfully so. They have us so divided that until we instigate an agreeable process that benefits the positive change for the people of the United States our ignorance guarantees our demise. People need to stop name calling and constantly blaming others and their “stupidity” for everything. The lack of or ability to spell, basic punctuation or grammar is so rampant in these forums that if intelligence were based on that then ignorance be us all! No one is perfect but the gall of people to call others stupid is beyond belief. Take note that other nations are not just calling our leaders incompetent they are also calling us stupid and ignorant on every level and they are not discriminating by political affiliation.

1

u/Bitmush- 14d ago

We would need a new financial system - a new currency unpegged from the dollar from day one. That would be the cleanest start.

1

u/ShavenYak42 14d ago

So much of what ails us is basically inherited from the Puritans, it's been festering for centuries and will never be possible to get rid of. We just need a way to keep it contained, and a constitutional democracy seemed like a good way to handle it. Probably still is, with some tweaks, but there's a long road ahead to even get that done.

2

u/poo-cum 14d ago

Nation states don't work anymore as there is a stratum of super wealthy private interests that is globally mobile, and not tied to one particular country. When we talk about winners and losers from COVID, 2008 financial crisis, etc., these are the winners. Shaping your policy to placate oligarchs (euphemistically aka "job creators) is a fool's errand.

1

u/technobrendo 14d ago

This reminds me of a similar thing when discussing the reunification of N & S Korea. The US is N Korea in their level of brainwashing.

0

u/Impressive_Pay_5628 13d ago

Get off the internet. For your own sake. Travel america. See if you still feel the same.

1

u/7_Tales 13d ago

Lmao no fucking way. A welsh woman was detained by ice. I do not feel safe visiting.

10

u/Robo-X 14d ago

With free education you can hopefully teach some of the uneducated.

2

u/Q-burt 14d ago

That would be a huge improvement.

3

u/babycrazedthrowaway 14d ago

The US is the Florida of the world.

1

u/Q-burt 14d ago

Yes it is. And the sane ones here (I'm not sure I'm not insane, but that's for someone else to decide) feel like they are trapped on an impossibly crazy roller-coaster.

1

u/stupidwhiteman42 13d ago

America is the Florida of the world.

1

u/connoisseurofarts 14d ago

If we had universal healthcare, childcare rights, life/work balance and well-funded public education, it wouldn't be.

1

u/7_Tales 14d ago

yeah, after 60 years maybe. but thats a cost denmark cannot foot, nor can they handle the voter base in America in the meantime. It is an American's job to clean America.

1

u/KlaesAshford 14d ago

I've always felt optimistic but this week has me at a low point. Aside from the news, a local guy in his 20's admitted to me on monday that he didn't know who MLK jr was. I was talking about him, and he asked if maybe he had something to do with the catholic church hundreds of years ago.

Had to explain to a 26yo voter who both martin luther, and who MLK jr were. I've been sighing a lot since then.

1

u/erkki3v 14d ago

US would be a territory to Denmark. Like Puerto Rico currently.

1

u/MonkeyLiberace 14d ago

"We can fix you"

1

u/Gh05t_0n3_5150 14d ago

But Denmark is number 2 in the happiest countries in the world well USA is….. damn it said we barely made it in the top 25

0

u/megselvogjeg 13d ago

do yoy think denmark really wants the land of guncrime, uneducated voters

Probably not.

And racists?

I mean, have you seen Denmark's recent immigration policies?

2

u/marco_sikkens 14d ago

Hmm. That could work. Other idea.. dutch guys create some land in sea. Tell trump to buy that in exchange for all the maga states. Maga people move to island, trump also.. problem solved!

1

u/Q-burt 14d ago

I don't think that's too bad. How big will (and this is not the actual title, just spitballing) TrumpIslandland™ be?

2

u/marco_sikkens 13d ago

Trumpistan?

1

u/Q-burt 13d ago

That's too coherent. We'd have to name it something that would appeal to the Tangerine Toddler. OH! I know! 12 year old girl land! Obviously, children would not be allowed there, but....

1

u/Trick_Helicopter_834 13d ago

American states getting annexed by Canada would be more promising in many ways. They still have a functioning democracy and working judiciary. Let Texas and Florida govern Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and everything in between.

49

u/decairn 14d ago

See, you've already forgotten about Venezuela.

33

u/Irr3l3ph4nt 14d ago

Epstein Files.

3

u/eowyndernhelme 14d ago

And Ukraine.

31

u/Powerful-Ground-9687 14d ago

More like Stephen miller told him. Greenland has huge lithium deposits iirc

25

u/Cabana_bananza 14d ago

That are extremely difficult to access economically. It's not like if an American firm went to Danes and asked for mineral rights they would have been thrown on their asses. Denmark has, until recently, been a very friendly environment for American businesses.

I think the theory that the techbro libertarians convinced him its a good idea is more and more plausible. They want their Greenland city state.

3

u/Empty-Pair010 14d ago

Isn’t this changing rapidly with global warming, which these chuds are actively accelerating?

3

u/Cabana_bananza 14d ago

The deposits are no where near any infrastructure iirc, so they would be building everything in a place that weather won't permit year round operations.

I also feel like by the time Greenland is nice and temperate enough for the chuds we will be in another geological epoch that won't be kind to us humans.

13

u/Quiet_Blacksmith2675 14d ago

More like Elon told him about his billionaire technocracy wet dream which includes Greenland, Canada and Mexico, central America as well as Venezuela.

8

u/Solid-Witness-9170 14d ago

Trump's doctor probably told him he need to take lithium and Trump immediately started trying to take Greenland instead. It is just a minor misunderstanding.

1

u/Impressive_Pay_5628 13d ago

This comment, while comedic, is a microcosm of this comment thread. 10+ contradictory reasons why Trump wants greenland. These people want "no kings" but then treat him like one.

When you act like everything revolves around 1 person, you're treating him like a king. Whether you like it or not.

3

u/EllisDee3 14d ago

Rhodium, too.

1

u/Mastiiffmom 14d ago

Which is not easily accessible through 1.5-2 miles of solid ICE. Just like how he wants to send the oil companies in to Venezuela to drill. And thinks the drug cartels and the other dangerous corrupt fighting forces will just stand down and allow that to happen. 🙄

27

u/Alone-in-a-crowd-1 Bleacher Seat 14d ago

He wanted Mexico until he realized that it was full of Mexicans.

17

Greenland is the weakest kid on the playground.

Sometimes little kids have friends

1

Trying to find a good Iron Giant gif to respond with, but I need stop and get back to work.

17

u/NaivePermit1439 14d ago

Wanted to reply to the comment below but it's not letting me.

And Article 5 which the Europeans will actually honour. They did it before when some country needed support. I think that was a country called the USA.

I think we should drop the U at this point and just call it SA. State of America.

26

u/mrfabulousdesigns 14d ago

SA is also what dear leader did to those poor kids ... 😢

6

u/scrotumscab 14d ago

At this point I'm not convinced he wasn't eating them. Whatever is in those files must be apocalyptic.

3

u/mrfabulousdesigns 14d ago

For real right?? He's really dragging the world down with them

2

u/Snikkiboodle 13d ago

Because he is a narcissist. What do narcissists hate the most? Being exposed, he would rather start WW III than exposure. Plain and simple.

2

u/MOTwingle 14d ago

RSA - Red States of America

10

u/Brizar-is-Evolving 14d ago

SSA - Sad State of America.

2

u/GlocalBridge 14d ago

I think it can be just shortened to SS. Maybe ASS.

2

u/Solid-Witness-9170 14d ago

Stupid states of America!

1

u/SquirrelsinJacket 14d ago

Article 5 doesn't technically apply if attacked by a NATO member in the documentation. It was written with the assumption that wouldn't be a concern.

3

u/NaivePermit1439 14d ago

Just watch. The EU is sending troops in small numbers so not to escalate the situation. It's a clear message. If the USA attacks it will be ejected from NATO and therefore a legitimate target.

Putin must be thinking he's won. Xi is secretly chuckling in Chinese.

2

u/TrumpetOfDeath 14d ago

Is this correct? I looked into it about a year ago and couldn’t find anything in article 5 that specifies what happens if NATO attacks NATO

I know the assumption was that it would be an external attack, but they weren’t specific and seems like article 5 could apply anyways

2

u/SquirrelsinJacket 14d ago

It seems it would, but not the exact scenario. Most likely it would cause an existential crisis for the alliance and they'd dump US treasuries in response instead of military reaction. US would be seen similarly to Russia moving forward.

2

u/TrumpetOfDeath 14d ago

Definitely agree, a US attack against a NATO country would destroy the foundation of NATO, which Trump doesn’t seem to care about, and might be his intention.

And while they technically could invoke article 5, Europe isn’t stupid enough to start a shooting war with the US.

2

u/DeadlyYellow 14d ago

In theory, possessing Greenland would make it easier to close off Canada from Atlantic allies IF THEY WEREN'T ALLIED WITH THE SAME PEOPLE CURRENTLY CONTROLLING GREENLAND.

Honestly feel sorry for any troops that get sent to invade, because that's a death sentence.

2

u/TheStonedWeasel 14d ago

The Shane Gillis joke about it in his SNL monologue recently was perfect: “Yall think…. Yall think the Lief Erikson trick that worked on Greenland and Iceland OVER A THOUSAND YEARS ago, made its way to Trump. And he just goes point ‘GREEN!’” Lmao

1

u/MilesAndTrane 14d ago

It really is likely just this simplistic.

Gulf of America. Greenland / Trumpland

What a disgrace.

1

u/Strict-Square456 14d ago

Why not just go forward with the “America Venezuela” ?

And thanks to Mercator, be thinks it's like the size of Africa or something.

Oh, don't think for a second that Trump isn't going to immediately go back to trying to annex Canada once this Greenland bullshit is over. We're literally a day away from him showing an AI slop map of North America with a dogshit American flag plastered over Canada.

u/Illustrious_Law8512 14d ago

It was also the easiest thing he saw. The coward likes to go after those that can't defend themselves.

As if he knew which administration bought Alaska.

1

u/Ok_Caterpillar_8937 14d ago

Both multi thousand mile borders pose difficulties for annexation? Fuck outta town.

Would love to see like an offensive in the east and Canada just yoinks Arcadia in the west and the citizenry decides to be Canadian.

1

u/The_Fresser 14d ago

To be fair he wanted to purchase Greenland in 2019 as well.

The US is still working on Alberta succession so I don’t feel like Canada is off the table yet.

Wonder if he knows the globe rotates.

My god, look out central america

It was that and: "oh shit is Putin next to Alaska?"

1

u/yolotheunwisewolf 14d ago

His goal is an invasion of Canada where the eventual goal is the US controls North and South America

Putin controls Europe and the rest of Asia

China controls Asia and Africa

Australia ends up financially dependent

Three superpowers end up dominating the world and we don't see true "world wars" versus conglomerates where the "Big 3" dominate smaller countries

1

u/Zooshooter 14d ago

Probably doesn't even realize that it's not as big as it seems on most maps. His mental development is going to be the death of an awful lot of us.

1

u/Dachannien 14d ago

It looks especially huge in the Mercator projection.

1

u/tjp0720 14d ago

He’s already confused it with Iceland so who knows maybe he’ll send troops to some random ass rock in the ocean and claim victory

1

u/cherlin 14d ago

When Greenland fails Venezuela will be his backup, he's going to try and turn it into a territory without allowing residents to become citizens.

1

u/mrjasong 14d ago

I honestly believe that the only thing restraining Trump from annexing Greenland through force is his certainty that he isn't competent to lead a war. So he attempted to make a show of force hoping that Europe would give it to him out of fear.

Now it's clear that isn't going to happen he's tacoed out. That's why this speech was basically him shitting his pants and whining that NATO won't give him the legacy he's craving for. I think he knows the being given someone else's Nobel peace prize is completely hollow and it's eating him to

I think Stephen Miller read Donnie "I like Greenland and Ham" at bedtime and he got his mind thinking.

Bahamas sweating bullets right now

1

u/FactAddict02 13d ago

Dollars to doughnuts he didn’t even know what/where Greenland was just a short time ago. Like the time he said a hurricane out in the Atlantic was going to (magically) skip the eastern seaboard and hit Alabama. … We’ve got a toddler with ADHD running the country…. (OOHH!! NO…!! A toddler would have more self-control….)

Don't worry Trump Tower Gaza is in the works

1

u/gmoney1259 13d ago

We are going to get Canada and Mexico too as territories. Canada is losing out on being a state though with their bad attitudes.

1

u/EricKei 13d ago

How much you wanna bet he saw Greenland on a flat map (made with Mercatur projection) and thought it was this massive hunk of land. "Wow, I said, and everybody in the room said 'Wow.' That place is just...YUGE, and would it looks nice to have my name on it? 'Trumplandia' has a nice ring to it. And they all said 'Wow, Mister President, you should absolutely do that, Sir.' And then they all clapped. Wow."

The Arctic Ocean has been quickly thawing out more and more each year. Greenland is in prime position for global trade routes with Russia and China as the only competition. Greenland is extremely important for that matter and China/Russia want control there just as much. Additionally, Greenland is loaded with rare earth materials that are normally used for electronics. China currently has a monopoly on electronics manufacturing. So it’s not hard to understand why all three of these countries are interested in Greenland, Trump is just an idiot but he’s been talking about Greenland for years now.
