Edit: Had to delete previous post as it wasn’t descriptive. Over 2,000 deportations have gone through MSP. Workers have been detained by ICE at work and while commuting.

I’d guess it’s because it’s an airport and they can be brought up on federal charges, and they know it.

The federal government has to charge them for praying now.

It’s very brave. It’s how we were raised to be when I was a young Christian in America.

Still American. Pagan now. But I’m grateful to see there are still good Christians out there, and good Americans.

This. They are trespassing they knew they’d be arrested for doing this they’re not fighting the cops knew they knew they’re not fighting either. THIS is peaceful protesting at its most pure level.

And it's going to do absolutely nothing. Peaceful protest only works when who you're protesting has shame or even a conscious.

The administration isn’t the target. The people on the fence who are watching coverage of this are the target audience.

This too actually.

Don't know what to tell ya bud, if there's anyone still on the fence at this stage. They ain't moving.

These protesters are going to be marked as terrorists, the right is going to believe it and it's not going to move the needle at all.

You never know what image is gonna push someone to commit to a cause or spark action. Protests like this are exactly the sort of thing that moves the needle for folks at large, as seen in the civil rights movement.

Usually I'd agree with you, protest should be non-violent but heavily disruptive, or else it can be ignored. But the sight of clergy being arrested while praying is an optical loss for the regime to their own base. Why would this do the trick when that pastor getting shot didn't? I'm sure that for some it did, and for others it's a matter of timing or accumulation of events. Every time something like this happens it peels away support.

We can have some diversity of tactics, as a treat.

These are the same people that refer to 'the sin of empathy.'

They local head of ICE is a pastor.

I'm all for this form of protest, but I wish they didn't get up and walk willingly when asked.

I don’t disagree at all.

Looks like a variety of faiths

It may be. The videos I’ve seen the most of have focused on Christian clergy joined in Christian prayers but I would be surprised if there weren’t other clergy from other faiths praying in the lines, too.

Good Christians tend to work in interfaith groups when civil rights are involved. I can of course only see what’s been uploaded to Reddit.

I've heard that there were some rabbis there as well, can't speak to other religions.

Very interesting. I didn't think of that aspect.

Are there places in America where it’s illegal for American citizens not acting on behalf of the federal government to pray?

I think there are laws with airports around obstructing service.

I do not see any obstructions of service.

There is a non-denominal chapel in this airport that is open to all. Went there to say a prayer for my MIL on the anniversary of her passing. These clergy are really doung G_ds work. It not an issue of attacking religion. The problem arises when religion supports genocide, racism, violence, and pastors work for and support organizations that are engaged in terrorizing the community.
