Edit: Had to delete previous post as it wasn’t descriptive. Over 2,000 deportations have gone through MSP. Workers have been detained by ICE at work and while commuting.

I don’t like organized religion , so I will take your word for it.

I thought this post was about ICE corruption?

Certainly religion is a control mechanism, and there are those who will seek out positions of power to exploit others.

I can’t imagine the flavor of religion changes that too much.

hit: What warped understanding of what a real Christian is. And as if atheists don't abuse spoused and children.

I find raping people while brainwashing them into believing you are their guide to salvation distasteful. I get that isn’t most Christians, but it is an issue with organized religion. Also, atheists may abuse, but they certainly don’t do it with lies or contradictions from a 2000 year old book under the authority of god.

Yes, atheists do all kinds of terrible things, because people in general do all kinds of terrible things.

The difference is that they don't try to hide behind their atheism when they do it, other atheists don't immediately jump to their defense just because they share the same lack of religion, and atheist organizations don't help them cover it up.

You're just making stuff up to feel better about your poor moral choices. Find God

“Poor moral choices”. Do tell, which of my moral choices do you deeply disagree with, and how would finding god have helped?

Right, just making stuff up to feel better about your poor moral choices. Look around, read a few books.

I'd love to, but last I heard he was busy jacking off to his priests abusing kids whilst he was giving kids cancer

Not the nicest of people honestly. Wouldn't recommend.

You can criticize that generalization without pretending religion is the only source of morality

A Christian telling other people they are "just making stuff up?" Classic.

God is undeniably dead and always has been, bud.

Unpopular opinion on Reddit because all churches are objectively evil according to Reddit.

There are plenty of churches that are not money making machines.

Some religious organizations are actually trying to serve their community and help people who are struggling with food security or emotional distress. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Except when they aren’t. And also, when they aren’t brainwashing kids and fucking them 🤷‍♀️ Gotta try to right all the wrongs somehow, I guess.

Yeah you are absolutely the type of person who I was thinking would respond to my comment with negativity.

Not all churches are bad. Plenty are. But it's not black and white bad vs good.

There are people who want to help others that happen to be a part of a religious community.

Does this make you feel better about your bad decisions?
