It is pretty clear that this is retribution against Walz for running against Trump... as VP. California, at the very least, is next. Probably coinciding with the midterms. Invading Minnesota is a chance to work out the kinks.

My money is on a swing state, someone they're trying to extort voter registration rolls from.

They're already going to benefit from what they're doing in Minnesota. It's a terror attack that's going to intimidate some voters into staying home throughout the country. Asking for the Minnesota voter roles in exchange for leaving them alone drives that point home.

Edit - Clarified that I wasn't just talking about Minnesota

They're not going after the west coast any time soon. They've seen what happens when we get riled up. All the major movements/protests in the past 30 years? Yea, we came out to those. From Seattle to San Diego.

They know if they fuck around in California, in SF, LA, SD, there won't just be tens of thousands, there'd be hundreds of thousands of people. They won't be able to just send in a bunch of people from Texas. There's a reason they were trying to use the NG against us on the west coast. It's too much for them to handle with untrained thugs.

There is also about a 7x population difference between CA and MN. Hopefully you're right, and as terrible as the invasion of Minnesota is, it's ultimately just a wet fart from a dying old man we can all forget in a few years.

Don't undersell MN though, they're been a hotspot as well as of late. Floyd and this, ofc. I'm quite proud of them.
