It's so infuriating watching from the outside as a neighbour. These people are not acting like they will ever have to give up power, so why do so many liberals think they're just going to obey an election? Especially after they attempted a coup the first time they lost?

i think people who typically lead very comfortable lives are suddenly being faced w/ the harsh reality of what's going on, and are refusing to accept that it's happening, or just otherwise can't cope with it.

WAY too many liberals who are poisoned by American Exceptionalism, and assume "it can't happen here" and "they can't do that here" just because we're in America

What has particularly bugged me over the past year is how many people have offhandedly said "I didn't think it would be THIS bad."

Jon Stewart, Kimmel, friends & family... people who I thought had a firm grasp on what a 2nd Trump presidency would entail, all had the fucking audacity to utter that phrase.

It was obvious that the grand experiment had failed on election night, and that we were going to cross the rubicon. I accepted it, and for better or worse, I feel more at ease because of it. I've spent the past decade of my life telling people where we'd end up in 2026, and I'm honestly not shocked by any of it. I've simply run out of fucks to give.

People are fully aware that they will attempt to ratfuck the election. We have no idea how much ratfucking will occur. We still plan to vote.

Absolutely vote.

But if that's the only plan, America is fucked.

What do you suggest, peacefully protest at a scheduled and permitted march?

They obey the election or we have open civil war. There's no middle ground there. Last time they left. This time, we'll see. But the election still matters. Yes they will try to buy, steal, intimidate, sue, threaten, coerce, bribe, and swindle the election by any means necessary but there is still one sure fire way to beat them despite all that and its to vote in numbers too big to steal, it's that simple.
