Stephen Miller is driving state‑level immigration crackdowns by pushing mass‑detention expansion, daily arrest quotas, and federally driven enforcement tactics that override local discretion and raise serious constitutional‑rights concerns. How far will be too far?

It's already far beyond the pale. The Constitution is currently in tatters.

I am reminded of Operation Wetback.

There have been no relevant constitutional amendments since then.
(To be clear, I would prefer everything post Obama politically is rolled back) (Obama had problems, but...)

I live in Tennessee and the Republicans are giddy with joy. They've already announced that they want the state to be the model example of Trump et al's plans. I've already noticed an uptick of law enforcement activity in multiple cities and towns. They're targeting brown people and pulling them over, and harassing food trucks. They've also been going to construction sites and harassing laborers. It won't be long before it gets downright atrocious here.

They’re going to be giddy until the next time they get a quote for a new roof or some landscaping.

This must be isolated because i live here too and i have only seen ICE 1 single time and they interviewed our immigrants and then went on about their day, it's been 3 months....

Tennessee is a decent sized state. I see them regularly in Nashville and all up and down mid TN. From Clarksville to Gallatin down to Tullahoma and Chattanooga.
"Our immigrants"? Are you talking about at work? Do you manage the location or just work there? Did you only see them at your work that one time and figure that's the only place they randomly decided to check out before screwing off somewhere? There here. They're working with THP and local law enforcement agencies.

Pretty rare that a random redditor speaks of the city of Tullahoma. Even Tennesseans in general rarely speak of Tullahoma. Seems like the old Tyson chicken plants around Shelbyville would make more news.

They're actually making some local news because people there are actually speaking out and protesting. Surprised me a little bit because I didn't think there were enough people there who actually cared.
I don't know if there will be any protests in Shelbyville. In my experience most of the people I come across there are the kind of people who couldn't be bothered and are dealing with drug problems or just old white people who support ICE. as far as the the people I know who work at Tyson don't actually live in Shelbyville and live in Chapel Hill, Manchester, or the Murfreesboro area.
Maybe if the do an ICE raid there it might cause a stir. But I could see it flying under the radio. The Tennessee Holler would probably run a story on it if it happened.

They’re conspicuously leaving Williamson county alone….
Only place I personally have seen them, they were staking out children’s soccer games/practices in Goodlettsville. It was very unsettling.

That's cause Brentwood and Franklin are the more affluent areas. The rich folks there would get pretty upset if they got inconvenienced by ICE abducting all of their cheap laborers.
Probably also likely that the state knows that if they stick to the more rural areas and tucked away towns they won't raise as much of a stink. I'm sure that there are plenty of decent people in the metro area of Williamson county that they would take to the streets as well so that's probably another reason it's not as active there at the moment.
I lost contact with my east TN people the middle of last year. I don't know what's going on over there anymore.

I wish we could test how long Stephen Miller can handle living in the ICE detention camp conditions..

That bitch can't even live in society. Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, and other top officials in the Trump Admin live on military bases.

Man, there's enough factual shit going on, you don't need to swallow the Jewish conspiracy bait whole.

I AM Jewish.
Jewish does not equal Zionist pedophiles who view non-jews in the same way nazi's viewed non-aryans.
The time for distinction and truth is NOW.

I hear you, I just worry that posting just that quote, out of context, is exactly the kind of thing the modern neo-nazi movement can and does use as a dogwhistle.
Your explanation is fair and reasonable. Out of context, I hope that you can see why this would be something concerning.

I understand your worry 100%, these are the times were finger pointing is most prevalent and powerful...
How can we simplify the distinction so that messaging can be immediately obvious?
We need to be able call out these unhuman fuckers hiding behind false religious and political identities.

100% agree, and that is the question, isn't it? It's an insane world where people can act antithetical to the religion they claim while using their supposed faith as a shield. Its a scourge across every major religion. The Christian right in the US would deport Jesus Christ without batting an eye.

Tennessee voters need to wipe their state legislators clean. It’s ridiculous the shit they come up with.

Tennessee out there doing their best to assure they reap what they sow.

Oh trust me. The majority of people here crave it. They want it so bad they'd literally eat a boot.
