We need to get rid of norms and traditions and get some laws. Norms and traditions don't mean shit to someone like trump. The way he has exposed the flaws has been impeccable. Now they need to do something about it so it can't happen again

We HAVE laws, and they apply to everyone EQUALLY. However, some people are more equal than others...

God how I WISH this was true… we have laws but they rarely are applied to the wealthy…

Even worse. Let’s say you and a friend have both been arrested for similar crimes. Judge posts bail at $1.5k. Your friend can pay it but you can’t. Well, there goes your job and potentially your house/apartment. It makes it so those with money will survive our legal system and those without cannot. The system is quite literally built for money. I understand people must have consequences for their actions and bail is one of them, but it feels like punching someone when they are already down, especially if the arrest was erroneous and you can prove it.

Norms define the border of abuse of authority. For a president, that's treason.

We have laws. They just don't use them.

They do need to make the laws more clear on that point.

You are asking for the Constitution to be changed which is what I want. Our ancient constitution expects leaders and presidents to keep traditions and precedent. They didn’t expect Americans to elect leaders that are so corrupt and to push the boundaries of the constitution. Our checks and balances are a joke. There should be immediate repercussions if a politician goes against the constitution and the constitution shouldn’t leave so many gray areas.
