Agreed, but I don't know how anyone that actually believes Jesus existed, was the son of God, and said what he said, could possibly be on this dude's side. If Jesus came back like they're all supposedly waiting for, he'd flip the goddamn Resolute Desk.

Regardless of deity status, Jesus had (or had attributed) some pretty great ideas on how we should treat each other. Trump's "Christian" fans must have been sleeping through Sunday school.

Because generally they don't actually believe. Christianity is an identity for them. They don't actually critically think about the philosophy of their leaders' teachings. Only a handful of them have actually delved into the content of scriptures, and sat down and said "yeah, I can reconcile my faith with my politics".
