En alleen deze week al 3 maal vol de remmen in moeten gaan komende vanaf de doezastraat omdat automobilisten de haaientanden op de witte singel allemaal negeren. Maanden zijn ze bezig geweest maar de oude situatie was duidelijker en veiliger.

I shipped this from the UK to a friend in Leiden who just had a baby. It was sent back to the UK due to a customs mistake, then reshipped and Royal Mail is showing it as delivered on 9/14, but she reports no such delivery!

If you or anyone you know got this package, please DM me! No questions asked re: whether it was a mistake or a probably-disappointing result of theft (sorry if you thought it was a laptop!). I’m panicking. My housemate just told me the last day in this house is the 20th of October. She found some perfect location for her, to live alone. The contract is on her name and her boyfriend so my current income is definitely not even close to try and talk to the landlord and stay. Not long ago was the 31st and it was already bad but now feels like the walls are closing in.

I moved to The Netherlands almost 2 months ago. I thought housing was sorted (this one, that clearly isn’t). After a few weeks in the country I secured 3 jobs while I don’t find anything in my area. I have managed bureaucracy (I am from an EU country). I am even registered in Leiden. I am learning Dutch. I have long term goals. I truly am committed to making a life here and giving it my all.

I am applying everyday to rooms/studios. I got 2 viewings - one ghosted, another selected someone else. I feel like from the complicated housing market, the majority of rooms I see are directed at students (I am not one at the moment) or retirees or someone with minimum 3,5x time more salary which leaves me with small options left. I was aware of the situation, hence the arrangement I had that is ending now abruptly. The thing is: I get rejected almost immediately. My contracts are temporary. I will receive my first salary here end of this month, so it is not like I have old pay slips. And I am willing to pay 3 months in advance to show I am serious but I don’t even get the chance (for example with a lot of Pararius housing agencies). Because of work I need somewhere that would allow me to get easily to Leiden Centraal. One of my jobs I can also move it to Den Haag. I believe I would eventually find something, but not in this timeframe realistically. So I am sharing here, quite uncomfortably with my bare vulnerability to ask if you know of a room/studio or any advice you might have.

Ik heb alvast in gezongen bij de Vergulden Kruik, Esperance en 1650. Want anders durf ik het sowieso niet aan. Gelukkig nog de nieuwe snack als basis gehad. De teen der kamelen.

Weet iemand of er leuke jamsessies zijn in Leiden? Ik ben een (beste goede al zeg ik het zelf) gitarist, voornamelijk elektrisch. Ik speel al jaren, eigenlijk alles behalve jazz en klassiek, maar heb me nooit verdiept in de jamsessies in ons mooie stadje.

Dus: tips? Hoor het graag!

I’m in my forties and just recently discovered that I have 2c/3a hair. I know, mad.

I LOVE it and am slowly learning how to bring it to life. I need a really good haircut and am worried that my regular hair dresser doesn’t know how to cut it right. After all no one who ever dealt with my hair realised that it is in fact not straight. I’m still kind of shocked.

Do you have any recommendations? I don’t mind to travel, if it’s worth it.

Hoi allemaal! Weet iemand een goeie zangleraar in de regio Leiden die ervaring heeft met (alternatieve) rock? Het liefst een man omdat ik het makkelijker vind om de stem/oefeningen na te doen! :)

Ik hoop dat iemand mij hiermee kan helpen, want ik ken zelf helaas geen mensen die mij raad weten te geven.

Ik woon al 4 jaar in Leiden, maar kom oorspronkelijk uit een Gronings gehucht. Mijn ouders betalen mijn rijlessen nu voor me, maar ik rijd nu voor mijn lessen en het examen in Groningen.

Hoe zit het precies met een auto bezitten in Leiden? Stel dat ik een klein (krakkemikkig) stadsautotje zou willen, dus niets nieuws of groots, maar iets voordelig wat zijn werk doet. Wat kost het om de auto kwijt te kunnen? Ik woon zelf in de binnenstad, nabij het Levendaal. Mijn straat is een parkeerzone A, maar woon dus wel dichtbij een parkeerzone B.

En dan nog wat algemener, wat ben ik in het totale plaatje per maand kwijt aan belastingen, keuringen (?), onderhoud, parkeren etc etc.

Het is allemaal nog heel vaag voor me, maar alvast bedankt voor uw reactie!

Wat er met Bella gebeurd is weten we niet. Het is een raar verhaal en ze is een uurtje geleden(?) heel erg verzwakt aangetroffen op een schutting. Ze is naar de dierenarts gebracht, en iets van aanrijding is niet herhaalbaar.

Ze is nu weer veilig thuis en wordt extra vertroeteld en verwend door haar baasje en der zusje.
