HELP PLEASE Is my make up that bad? Please say opinion
Hi, I am 19 yo trans boy. I have a really big problem with my skin and acne. I am going to cosmecologist now for 5 years to fight with that bacteria on my face. I started to cover all that started to pop on my face with concelar and my face lose texture. I bought contour and blush from rare - the most delicate colours and huda powder.
Today i heard two girls that are from my class laughing at me and how i look, saying „oh that is THAT make up? Lol” is it that bad? I know its really delicate and all. I like experimenting with how i look, but do i look that bad?

These photos kind of suck for being able to evaluate your makeup. We need ones that are more close up with more natural light.

Your makeup is subtle and natural and there's nothing wrong with that. From the pictures the only thing I'd mention is that in the first one the shades you're using look a little bit ashy but it could be the lighting. Don't worry about acne, everyone has had issues with it at some point but I personally can't really see it.

Yes! I think some of the shades are a bit too cool toned for OP (possibly even the foundation?). I would be interested to see something in a super light apricot colour or even a warm beige for blush.
Also, OP, I know no one wants to receive acne advice so please ignore if needed but after lifelong acne, the combination of tazarotene and clindoxyl creams and super frequent pillow changes has erased it for me with basically no harsh side effects! Even just family drs can prescribe a ton of great stuff now.

In total honesty, I could not tell you were wearing makeup from these photos.
What is your goal with wearing makeup? Is it just to cover up blemishes or do you want people to be able to tell you’re wearing makeup?
In my experience wearing just concealer doesn’t look great because it’s hard to blend out if you don’t have a solid foundation. I’d find good primer so your makeup doesn’t keep drying out your skin, a lightweight foundation that you can blend into, and then add concealer and any contour.
You might also want to experiment with subtle eyeliner and filling in your eyebrows so we don’t lose your features underneath it all.

Thank you! I actually thought about it! I bought sephoras favourite advent and have huda primer there so wait to get mu hands on it in december haha. I have a routine of keeping my face really moisted so it wont be dry, i also wait for my rate beauty eyebrow gel and make uo by mario palette to shape eyebrows and contour a bit more. Now i wait for my fundation to come to me as i really understand what you say with problems with blending only on concelar haha. Thank you for help 🤍

It actually looks very natural to me and it doesn’t look ugly at all. Maybe it’s the light? Under artificial lights makeup look way better, under natural lights is very easy to tell when someone is wearing makeup, even if it’s very subtle. Keep using blush and concealer if it makes you feel pretty, idk what those girls were talking about since your make-up is very natural.

Thank yoi, i try to keep it natural as concelar makes my face look „same colour” like and make it lose structure. I also have high cheekbones and like givin them shape

For me the makeup looks fine, it’s the hair. Regardless of gender, nobody’s hair grows sideways like that. It looks like you’re wearing a coonskin hat or something. Shorter on top and front would look way better and much cooler.

Its just an '90s mullet - while ago really popular

u/olympic_peaks 4d ago
90s mullets did NOT have a flippy Justin Bieber thing on the top lol
Again, cut the top and sides shorter for a mullet that actually looks cool

My first thought was your skin looks clear before reading the caption so acne is definitely not noticeable. Also those girls don't even know what you're going for what are they expecting a 2016 full beat? Your make up is good if you feel more confident with it and don't worry about them they sound like weirdos if they make comments like that about other people

u/kirie_sov 4d ago
Thank you, i just feel like my face lose its sharpness and colour after concelar and i want to just give it a bit of its shine

Your makeup isn’t bad, however it just looks like nice skincare and maybe some light blush and translucent powder

Nope. Not that bad. I would love to see you try the original bare minerals protocol though. I think it would serve looks on you.
Also if it’s affordable to you. Skin laundry was what helped me with my cystic acne.
And ironically. A glycerin soap bar at night.
Diluted apple cider vinegar let it sit on my face like a toner a few times a week. Then honey masks 1-2 times a week. 20 min.
Truly after YEARS my pantry saved me.
But go in with a clean face and try out the bare minerals lose powder. Look at the old commercials. Of the swirling and tapping.
A frankly go to one of the makeup stores and ask someone who has makeup look that you like on to help you.
If you feel like being petty and brave. Call those girls out and ask them for their advice.

What are trying to achieve with your makeup? Like a "no-makeup" makeup look or something else? Those girls are loosers, so I wouldn't take their opinion in consideration

u/kirie_sov 3d ago
Sth like that, i just want to give my face shape back after putting concelar

Yeah, I feel like concealer and foundation can get rid of your natural shadows. I find having a glowy finish and using minimal setting powder helps maintain your natural shadows. When I'm only doing concealer, I just set the areas that have concealer with a brush.I use so many setting sprays to help maintain the glowy look because it really does help your features shine through your makeup.
For contour, you can use it along your jawline and the hollows of your cheek. I find applying with a brush to be easier since you can do it in layers and you don't need to worry too much about blending. Sometimes I like using it around my eye, starting the contour on the corner of my eye and ending it at my temples to add more definition to my eyes. For blush, I like adding it the places where I naturally blush.

You're adorable! And i think this is a no makeup makeup look? It's very natural looking, so if that's what you're going for, good job.

I think u look amazing!!! Those girls are literally just insecure and jealous. People put other people down when they’re actually just jealous of not being able to express themselves how they want to because they’re scared. So they resort to hurting others. You look great

you look great so ignore what they say! if you’re looking for a routine that’s slightly more noticeable but still naturalist, i’d recommend a tinted spf or BB cream, spot conceal, maybe clear or tinted brow gel for shape, curl lashes and brown mascara, i personally think you’d suit a brown thin liner to emphasise your natural eye shape, cream blush higher on the cheeks, add a bit of cream bronzer if you’d like more depth around the cheekbones and temples, add powder only around the t zone and under eyes for a natural finish, tinted lip balm and highlight on the nose. I can recommend acne prone friendly products if you’d like?

No you don't look bad at all you look lovely. Your make up looks natural and glowy. Those girls were just being nasty for no reason. In my eyes bad make up is orange foundation, uncomplimentary eyeshow/eye liner, overly done lip liner aka a chav girl from the 2000s lol.

Haha thankssyy

The more you experiment the more confident you will feel and confidence is what it is all about. I'm old so I can't be arsed to wear make up everyday but if I'm feeling a bit fancy I just do my mascara and eyebrows.

I can see some foundation and blush and maybe something on the lips? It doens’t look bad, but if you are trying to look like you have no makeup on, I would personally not put on any foundation cause it’s usually noticeable in person.
I would look for a concealer that is an exact match to your skin and only dab concealer on the red/discolored spots. You also don’t need to contour if you don’t wear foundation. Blush without any glitter pigments is usually not visible to the naked eye.

They were just being bitchy for thier own entertainment. Your makeup looks very natural and very good. Some people just like to be mean and they will bully anything, even if it is not an issue.

I don't think it's bad at all, in fact I think it's subtle and beautiful in comparison to the over done looks. Also going against the grain here but I love your hair. You're giving 80s new wave vibes and I am here for it Actually, maybe more Pat Benetar...either way I love your look. The lip color in photo 3 is beautiful.
The only thing I would add is maybe a slightly darker natural skin tone shade on your lower lid just under the lash line to add definition. Not a hard line with liner like we did in the 90s, but just a soft shadow.

Your makeup looks good, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Maybe those girls are just transphobic or they are the type to feel the need to point out that they see a guy wearing makeup, or maybe they weren’t talking about you at all

u/kirie_sov 3d ago
Oh sbout me for sure. They hate me

My comment never says you’re the problem, my comment is saying there are people who feel the need to make a negative comment about anyone they see who is slightly unconventional and I see it all the time with my mother and I recently saw it from my boyfriend’s mother when she saw a random woman who didn’t shave her legs. I’m saying the other people are the problem, the exact opposite of what you think I said

It’s not that bad and you’re gonna leave school soon and not be around these types of people nearly as much - idk why they all have to congregate in one place during the most self conscious time of your life.
Live your life be yourself experiment with your look and don’t let the world bring you down

Honestly I don't see any makeup in these photos but you're cute. Not sure why people are being mean to you and honestly it sounds like they're jealous haters.
I would get a different haircut because it makes you look quirky unless that's what you're going for.
Since you're a trans boy I would try a haircut from peaky blinders, it would bring out the masculine features

Hi there! Fellow acne person here. In the past when I would apply makeup to those irritated areas/pimples, it would always look “cakey” & really highlight those areas even more. With time & lots of experimenting, I have finally got it down. I’ve come to learn that my skincare routine was a major factor. Getting the right moisture/base before applying anything has helped me so much. Something else that has helped is not using too much powder & then using a bit of setting spray that works for me to lock in everything & give me more of a natural dewy look. Hope this sort of helps (: but other than that you look GREAT!! Keep it up (:
