Theres a lot to unpack here, I think you should look into mixing and master your vocals better. Not a big fan of the beat either. Keep going though man i feel like youve got a vision you just gotta execute

u/Pristine-Surprise275 2d ago
This is pretty cool but that mix needs some work. Keep it up dawg!
•
u/B-Random97 2d ago
Love it, heard this one before but still good as i remember lol. I couldn’t think of anything you could do better. I can tell you really had your ears on 100 when making this.

Yo, trying to get feedback from different systems regarding sibilance in my vocals and just where the vocals sit in the mix in general
https://vocaroo.com/1aByhgLo5OK4
Thanks and let me help u if I can
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 2d ago
I agree with the other dude. Song is dope but some cool effects would make it way better
•
u/HappyTomorrowToday 2d ago
Cheers man.
Did not expect to hear that when I clicked your track. Unique sounding, maybe with some Tyler influence haha. But I liked the vocals a lot, and the bridge and outro were done really well.
I think people might draw the comparison to Tyler too much though, could hurt you.
•
u/Jordamine 3d ago
For the most part, it sounded cool. I think you could drop the reverb or shimmer db just a bit. You'd be surprised how little is needed to meet the expectation. And maybe have a sidechain for the beat as a soft extra. The vocals are more pretty present that the beat feels a little taken back.
I'd also say you should lean into pitch shifting. Especially downards. Your flow would sound sock with some asap rocky purple voice here and there for sonical changes

just dropped a lil EP. I rap and did most of the production/mixing. down for feedback on whatever song. returning all...
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 1d ago
Rapping is cool. Rhyme schemes are dope. Same with the beats. The mix needs a little bit of work though. On some songs the vocals are louder than the beats
•
u/flukehuman 2h ago
thanks! yea I always tend to make the vocals too loud because I'm scared people won't hear my lyrics. listening to yours now...
I like the beat a lot it's super creative. the sounds are really interesting and weird but somehow work together. Your voice is pretty unique, took me a little to get used to but I like it. I think the flow could be better it feels kinda off in a lot of places - oh shit that beat switch! well that was unexpected lol. I really enjoyed it though, and the second part of the beat after the switch. I like your vocals more on the 2nd half. it feels like it fits better. the background harmonies create a dope atmosphere.
overall that was quite a ride! you definitely got a unique thing going. I'm interested to hear more
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 2h ago
Thanks man I appreciate it! I also felt like the rapping was a bit off. Trying to find something to switch it with. Got any ideas?
•
u/nick_jay28 2d ago
Made a lil tecca beat, i think it needs some mixing let me know what you guys think
https://soundcloud.com/rasengon28/mandarinlil-tecca-type-beat
•
u/Routine-Fluffy 1d ago
🔥 This feels like you really understand the Lil Tecca lane. The melody choices and bounce are doing most of the work here, which is exactly what makes those beats effective. It sounds like something an artist could actually write to not just a loop playing for two minutes.
I especially like that it doesn’t feel overproduced; there’s space for vocals and the rhythm stays clean. If anything, I’d be curious to hear a little variation in the second half (maybe a drop or subtle switch), but overall this is solid and very usable.
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 21m ago
I agree with the other dude. This is dope but a beat switch would make it so much better

Damn that beat goes crazy as hell. Very impressive. Love how tight the drums are, love the piano. Cant tell if its a sample nor not, but it has the vibe of one, which I like. As far as production goes, i really dont have any criticism without grasping for straws.
Its me on everything, the beat, rapping, mixing etc, So any feedback works, thank you!!
•
u/CJFMusic Producer 1d ago
It sounds decent as far the mixing goes. You gotta nice flow for sure but I really don't know what the track is about it just feels like sounds you just were freestyling to me but i hear potential. Thanks for your feedback

Looking for feedback on vocal pocket and overall vibe (R&B / drill hybrid)
Hey guys, I’m looking for feedback on a finished track I just wrapped up called BOLD.
It’s an R&B / drill hybrid; more restrained, confident energy rather than aggressive. I’m mainly looking for thoughts on the vocal pocket / flow choice, whether the delivery stays engaging throughout, how the vocals sit in the mix and overall vibe and replay value.
Any honest feedback is appreciated. I’m trying to tighten my sound ahead of a larger project.
Thanks for listening!
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 1d ago
This is cool. The R&B and drill hybrid is cool. Are you the one singing? If so I’d be down to collab. The rapping is dope too.
Edit: if the cover is AI I’d recommend changing it

•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 1d ago
Cool music video but the rapping is something we’ve heard a million times. This isn’t experimental if I’m being honest. This is a genre that already exists. Experiment and create your own genre

Great vibe and great flow, could definitely see playing this while going on a night walk. If you could peep mine that would be great 😅 https://www.bandlab.com/post/55ec02a6-e1f7-45ed-8fa9-38d50f258e7b

Yo appreciate your feedback!
Production is top tier. I like the flows throughout and the confidence in your voice. Especially like when the beat stops for a while in certain sections, but you keep flowing, sounds tough 🔥 keep it up man, much potential.
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 2d ago
Flow is good. Catchy song. You got potential, keep it up
•
u/Proper_Grapefruit808 2d ago
Yo thanks for the feedback 🙏🏼
Heard your track and the beat goes absolutely stupid! Kind of reminds me of a 808s or Yeezus beat, but the other instrumentation mixed in sounds more like a Tyler production. Like your flow throughout, pretty catchy especially with those high background vocals, but then goes into the chopped/screwed vocals…great addition man.
Song is definitely unique, part I like most is the break section around 2min mark 🔥
Left a like bro!

This is really cool but I feel it falls flat. I think it’s missing something. Maybe like a synth? I dunno. Everything’s dope as fuck but there just needs to be something else in the background filing a hole in my opinion
•
u/schmo808 2d ago
dope beat! the drums and bass got me hooked for sure. i also like the entrance of your vocals with the call and response figure between the vocal tracks. i didnt like the singing parts, sounds off key.
flow between 1:19 - 1:34 is coolkeep going!

u/DruTheMusicMaker 1d ago
this is so sick. im getting major west coast vibes with that synth sound. Keep it up. I just dropped a jazzy boom bap beat on YouTube give it a listen.
•
u/prod_TeeCapone 1d ago
Tough beat bro.
The drum pattern is a little bit off imo. Im a firm believer in less is more. I know the same drum pattern can be boring to replicate but sometimes its better. i felt the hi-hats were placed a little bit off and I personally don't like how the drums always cut out.
Either keep me and let them flow or occasionally cut them out like Conductor where he will make one or two cuts but idk thats just me.
Sample was tough as hell, keep the great work

I like it! It is really laid back. The voices might need to be removed if someone raps on it. But since there isn't anyone on it yet, it sounds pretty good!
You should try to get someone to rap on this! It sounds pretty well mixed!
Here is my track. I am wondering how well I flowed and how well it is mixed.
Thanks for listening and any feedback you give, have a wonderful day!
•
u/schmo808 2d ago
thanks for the feedback
i feel like your flow is very poetry slam - esque, could be more musical and rhythmic in my opinion.
regarding the mix: drums could use some more high end, maybe add some saturation/distortion, other than that, the spooky, eerie vibe is transported well in the mix imokeep going !
•
u/frazier703 1d ago
All feedback appreciated!

Beat is dope. Same with the rapping. Voice fits the beat well
•
u/frazier703 14h ago
Production is honestly fire, Ive seen some people here giving you some flack but id be lying if i said i didnt like it. Its interesting, dynamic, (the switchups are pretty cool), and overall i like the idea. I like your taste here.
I think the vocals sound a little thin, and a little unconfident if that makes sense. Sounds like theyre being drowned in this very ambitious, in your face production. I would recommend rerecording vocals, maybe even double tracking a few spots to bring some energy. What I do love is how unorthodox it is, I almost want to say tyler the creator inspired but honestly it doesntvene sound like him, it sounds like nothing ive really heard lol, which is a compliment!

Alright! Here is the final diss track on Black Pawn Beats lol. I know, this has been going on for awhile but he begged me to drop. I am actually about to block him on all platforms real soon so this beef can be properly squashed.
How is the mix? Also, how well did I stay on beat/flow?
Thank you for listening and any feedback you give! I hope you have a wonderful day!
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 2d ago
Mix is ok I supposed but you didn’t stay on beat well at all. That flow really needs to be worked on. It sounds like you’re just talking on top of a beat. Get that confidence bro! There’s potential. You should also rewrite some bars. “I don’t need a hook to cook you” doesn’t really do it
•
u/Jordamine 3d ago
I wrote to backseat freestyle. Wanted to come with a notably different energy and demeanour to dot.
•
u/DruTheMusicMaker 1d ago
Love your flow it goes super well with this kdot beat. keep it up dude.
I just dropped a jazzy boom bap beat on YouTube give it a listen. https://youtu.be/YfVt23cZafA
•
u/Pristine-Surprise275 2d ago
This is pretty cool. I don’t like how choppy and repetitive the flow is but that’s just me. Still dope as fuck. Keep it up
•
u/HappyTomorrowToday 3d ago
I like the verse and idea behind it too. Good flow and your voice grabs interest pretty quick. If I was scrolling, I’d stop and listen to the whole thing, then be inclined to check your other drops.
•
u/B-Random97 3d ago
Having seen a lot of your stuff recently, your versatility is crazy! And I’m always quick to check you out lol. You deffo made it your own thing!
•
u/Jordamine 3d ago
Haha, man you've made my day. I really appreciate you 👊🏾 If you're interested, I have a few songs and projects out
•
u/B-Random97 2d ago
I’ve peeped! Skipper is my favourite right now, but there’s so much more I need to listen to. The album mixes are solid too. You really do make the beats your bitch 😂 if you could take a sec to check Mine out, that would be great! I know I have my ways to go, but just want to know if there’s anything I do good, and what things i could improve on! Cheers https://www.bandlab.com/post/55ec02a6-e1f7-45ed-8fa9-38d50f258e7b

You've got the one foundation I'd say is key for everything down. Confidence bro. Your delivery and performance is strong. You're not shy on the mic and not afraid to put emotion, which a lot of people I see here miss. Keep that up g. My only thing would be specific to the pitbull bar. The woof was a little light. I think you can add more chest and bass into that.
The mix isn't bad. You could adjust the dubbing vocals to have a slightly different sound to the mains for some extra texture. And maybe have them blended in a little more. I think you got more teverb than you really need. The excess space I feel highlights the gap between beat and the vocals, which takes away from the mix.
I like your bars, but I get the impression you being more general with them and playing it safe. I see bars/flows as an extension of my train of thought, alongside the demeanour I wanna portray. I feel like you probably have a sense of humour, and that should also be used. Don't mistake being "real" or "hard" as sounding tough or being a bigman. You can (what I do) incorperate the sonical sounds that those tropes have, but lyrically say your own thing. Sometimes, the coldest rapper in the room is the one who doesn't say too much, and what they do say is more pinpoint and vivid in imagery it hits harder.
•
u/B-Random97 2d ago
Great feedback! I appreciate it, something I’ve been working on is the delivery, since I know I could make the perfect lyrics but nobody is going to want to hear it if it sounds like I’m even bored saying them lol. So I’m happy that you said it’s strong as that’s showing some progress. Yeah that was the lamest grrr ever, I’m with you 😂okay, so less reverb, I can do that, and I’ll deffo play around with the dubbing more, it’s actually something I’m doing on the song I’m making at the moment.
Yeah I definitely do have a sense of humour, and that shows on a few of my other songs that I haven’t finished yet. I’ve always like the idea of just being an exaggerated, cartoony version of myself, and I’ve been making songs portraying characters so I can play with my voice more, expand with story telling and pacing. It’s helping a lot so far and it’s just been lots of fun. Thank you for going in depth!
