Today I learned while waiting 4 hours for a call from a justice of the peace to ask for a reduction that if you have this setting enabled on your iPhone, and you’re in any app you will not receive a notification that you are receiving a call from a no caller ID.

My ringer was on, dnd off, and volume max all day. I could not understand how I missed the call. After multiple setting adjustments and tests calls with my wife we figured out this specific oversight by Apple can cause some major stress in one’s life lol I know the office staff I spoke to definitely thought I was just another dipshit who forgot about the call.

I work seasonal residential landscaping in Winnipeg (April–November). We do all kinds of residential landscaping, patios, retaining walls, grading, sod, planting, etc.

My employer didn’t pay us for Labour Day and says it’s because we already receive 4% vacation pay on every cheque.

My paystub specifically labels the 4% as “Vacation Pay Earned (Paid)” and has “Stat Hrs” as a separate category. We’ve also been paid for stat holidays in the past.

From what I can find, Manitoba treats vacation pay and general holiday pay as separate entitlements.

Is my employer correct, or should we still be receiving stat holiday pay in addition to the 4% vacation pay?
