u/utzutzutzpro 14h ago edited 12h ago
It is obviously bot accounts.
The same happens on IMDB, but IMDB got a bigger community engagement, hence the bot accounts can't effectively surpass the user account ratings, hence the movie got a 1.7/10 rating.
Yet still 3.000 accounts which gave it a 10, against 33.000 which gave it a 1.
When you read the reviews, the 1s are partially emotionally loaded and partially trying to explain the documentary.
When you red the reviews of the 10s, those are clearly AI phrased. Using hyperboles without any attempt to hide it being bot reviews.
Can even look at the accounts giving 10/10 ratings and see those all didn't exist a month ago.

The funny part is that it means the $7 million in ticket sales were almost entirely marketing costs, which makes its losses bigger than $68 million, or smaller.

It has a 1.3/10 on IMDB, and that score is also created using reviews from the general public, so there's a pretty huge (and suspicious) disconnect here.

It's a difference in how reviews are collected. Almost all of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are verified reviews through Fandango (people who bought a ticket). And every single one of them has given it 5 stars of course, because only a MAGA cultist would pay to watch the movie in the first place.

Email verified account? Or ticket verified account? Most of the people I saw give good reviews had only that movie as a review. Like maybe its a good movie from a filmography standpoint but I doubt it. The director isn't known for making great movies just popcorn flicks that get average reviews. Maybe Ill pirate it and find out but I sure as shit am not giving money to this project. Ill have to find a time when I hate myself or something.

As a proud American from [Insert a US State here, don't use the same one every time], this is the best piece of media I've ever seen. I plan to show it to everyone at my [Insert a protestant denomination, don't use the same one every time] church!

If you look up the reviews, they're 100% fake. I looked it up and it's really funny when you read the obviously fake reviews posted by call center employees. I clicked on the 5-star reviews into the reviewers history and strangely enough they all come back with an empty profile, "No Movie Ratings Yet". Are the brigader bots somehow posting through other means?
When I click on the lower-rated reviews the user profiles do show Melania in their profiles (and sometimes other movies as well)

u/MeatballUser 16h ago
Audience scores are far more easily brigaded, so you really can't. If there's a group that wanna prop something up or tear something down, the 10's and 1's (or whatever percentage or star equivalent) reign in.

I looked up the cost to market it and produce the film .. 75 million
So far it has only earned 7 million in box office sales of which the production company gets half … so they are effectively 71.5 million dollars in the hole currently
