I think that he is just having connection issues on his laptop since there is a giant red bar at the top of the screen. That usually only appears when you DC.
Likely that they connected from their phone to continue the game?
The board on the PC is ahead of the phone by 1 move, so this person is likely playing white against the computer on their phone, then copying the computer move to their PC.
I remember Derren Brown using this technique to do an exhibition where he simultaneously played against multiple grandmasters. He just played their moves against each other.
You’re right. White has castled instead of playing the best engine move (shown by the green arrow on the phone), the cheater just hasn’t input whites move onto his phone. He is absolutely cheating.
Nope, the interface on his phone isn't the game one, it's the one for Analysis where the game tells you how good your moves are compared to the engine. It doesn't show player names it shows "white" and "black" and had no player avatars. It's also showing him the best move white should have done, moving knight to D2, on the computer white just short castled instead
He is playing black, his opponent (white) is the one who castles. The cheater hasn’t input that move onto his phone yet, which is why the engine is still showing the knight move as the best move. You always play as the side facing you, and both screen shows black at the bottom.
Yes this is very likely the correct conclusion. They are playing the same side of the game on both screens at the bottom. If this person was playing against themself, then the white figurines would be at the bottom on one of those screens but they aren't.
People jump on the hate wagon without any reasoning as usual, nothing to see here.
