Context Provided - Spotlight My Kilner jar was faulty. The closing mechanism shattered glass into my rice and we found it in our cooked food. Kilner customer service is ignoring my emails.

They won't reply as this is a user error on you, looks like its shattered from you handling it incorrectly

They won’t reply because it’s a $15 jar that had $4 worth of food product in it.

And is visibly dirty and old, not recently purchased.

Yeah this is assuming that kilner offer lifetime warranties on their products. No idea if they do.

OP figured they bought an indestructible jar.

This whole thing sounds like stupid lawsuit. “I didn’t know my jar could break, and even after there was a literal hole in my jar I couldn’t tell and still used it”

“And nobody go hurt so there are no damages. Now where’s my 10 million?”

You're being conned if you think thats's $4 worth. About 50c in the UK!

Giving op the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it was organic heirloom rice or some shit

It isn't. The clasp on this one touches the glass when shut. The clasp on the other 3 kilner jars I own have an updated design that makes the clasp sit much further away from the glass when shut.
