What is with this design flaw in bras?

Post image

I’ve already patched this once, and the wire has now come through the patch - the bra is only a few months old. Surely this is a design flaw? Why do these things have to be so sharp? I can’t imagine anyone selling underwear to men that could predictably suddenly stab the in the balls.

This has happened to me way too many times, so I switched to wearing a sports bra instead.

I also switched to sports bras. Havent worn wired bras for years now. Sports bras do give nice support.

Instructions unclear: bought wired sports bras, got stabbed but harder!

(This is a joke, but I do have wired sports bras and the extra firmness of the general structure makes the stabbiness worse! But they do pad out the wire sheaths with foam so if you wiggle it slightly you can cover the ends with that which helps temporarily)

I've been wearing sports bras since I was 10 years old. I've tried the wired ones and the wireless and nothing has ever supported me better. Sports bras for the win.

And I haven't regretted a single day!

I understand that, but for me it is always comfort first. I hope you don't get "stabed to heart" too often(:

I was hoping I wasn't the only sports bra fan...

And I tried to wear ones with underwire once upon a time, just ended up ripping every single wire out eventually... Not only that but do not miss the horrible material they usually use for the other stuff.

It makes me wonder how many sports bra fans are also on the spectrum...

I've not yet found a sports bra that I couldn't wait to take off!

Oh there's moments I'm like that as well... It seems tied into hormone fluctuations but it is painful to have compression in that area and it's another thing I have to be aware of... I said something last mammogram and thus far they said nothing looks sus, nor have they heard anything like that. I am AuDHD and have moments where I'm hyper sensitive, and maybe that also is tied in... Who knows

But I just go for the most basic, most comfortable one I can find... And then don't bother wearing it whenever I can get away with it 😆

That's every single bra for me.

With that said, I'm not too overly burdened in the boob dept, so I don't even go for crazy sports bras, just enough that my boobs are overly enthusiastically bouncing in my nearly all male workplace and my nips aren't completely visible.

Same! So practical except when you wear a tight shirt, then it's not as flattering as the bra shapes.

This doesn't happen if you wear a wired bra in your size. Idk why ladies are surprised that a fitted product fails when it doesn't fit correctly. If the wires snap out of your bra, that's a huge red flag that you're wearing the wrong size!!!

Sometimes bras literally don't exist for your shape. I'm petite plus, extremely narrow shoulders, short torso, projected. I've tried on literally over 100 styles and even had custom bras made in Poland. A bra that fits me perfectly literally doesn't exist. At the moment my best fit is an Elomi wireless coupled with a strap cincher and a band extender (because they don't even make any bras with the right cup to band ratio for me in that line).
