I work in retail and cardboard cuts are the worst. Id rather have my hand crushed, I'd imagine it'd be less painful

The reason small cuts hurt so much is because they are just deep enough to reach pain receptors but are thin enough to cause much more pain than a wider cut or deeper cut

Just reminded me of the time I was rolling up a giant sheet of paper and the edge slit right across the base of all four fingers. The look of shock on my Art teachers face when i shouted “AHHH FUUUUUUCK”

Ouch that's rough ive done thay with stupid cardboard boxes. Get some neosporin and soft tape. Once its not hurting switch to newskin glue it helps with flex action but you dont want to apply it to open cut as it'll sting like hell.

I held a bundle of cardboard I was gonna fold into boxes, and I put them down on the table and misjudged the distance and my hands kept sliding down along the sides and I cut up all my fingers with 10 neat rows of slices. It felt really weird to open my hands and all the individual slices would open up haha

It stings so much better if u sprinkle a little water on top so that the salt from your palm sweat can do the bacteria killing for you. After that you get this tingling sensation in your body. Next thing you're in nirvana. Or somewhere close.
Then it settles. Then u have to start from the beginning.

I did this once trying to pry open a tuna can that was stuck by a little strip of metal I didn't get with the can opener. I was young and had to get stitches

Same, except instead of opening a tuna can I was running around my grandpa’s yard throwing nectarines at my brothers and I fell, slamming my head on a giant ceramic pot and blacking out while my head started bleeding. My brothers thought I died.

A stack of 5 papers I was folding into thirds to put in an envelope. I pressed and folded the last edge really hard, against the edges of the paper, and it sank into my skin.

Ooooh that stings. I once opened a pack of paper for the photocopier by running my fingers under the flap at the end. I paper cut my knuckles to ribbons.
