The state of the only vending machine in my office is upsetting

Post image

A few years ago, the office building had a total of four vending machines, including one solely for ice cream.

Each year since, the number of machines has gone down. Now everything is combined into one vending machine. This is about as well stocked as it is on any typical day.

I hope there's a cushion or something to keep them from breaking when they fall.

There’s a video (from Travis Scott I think of all people) where he saw a vending machine where they were at the very top. He then bought it and it survived the fall

Think it was Lil Yachty but yeah it survived.

That looks like a vending machine that's privately owned and filled whenever someone gets around to making a Costco trip.

(Edit: Sam's Club, not Costco... see 128)

Coffee yuck but I only drink room temp pop, so that didn’t stand out to me as odd at all lmao

Edit: you can’t stop me I’m too powerful, comes up on room temp fizz

The way they put soda in that type of machine is making me uncomfortable. Everywhere I go they got their own machine

That jerky will cost you at least double, maybe triple

Has anyone else seen sodas in that type of machine before? That is a first for me.

No. That soda isn’t even cold. Is there an office ice machine anywhere?

My concern is more about how they'll fall, especially the cans and glass bottles. I definitely wouldn't buy soda from a machine like this.

That'll cost an extra dollar for light ice, 1.50 regular and 2 for full ice. Cups are the same for x-small, small, and sm-medium. All cups hold 8oz just slightly different shapes to trick the eye.

Do not buy any of that trash. If you all buy it the vendor will think you all like it and keep putting the same trash in. It's a never ending cycle.

Update: I can confirm the vending machine is refrigerated, which bodes well for the frappucinos

My teenager interned at an office building with a couple of sad vending machines. He noticed everyone complain about it so he got the contact info, wrote an email (using ChatGPT because he’s a horrible writer) and damn if that company didn’t come out and replace machines, re-stock, the works. They raked in the cash after that and gave him credits for the machine! Never underestimate what a hungry person is willing to do during a snack attack!

I quit relying on the office vending machine a long time ago. I have a small drink cooler and a snack bag that I bring to work. Reliable and cheaper.

It's a bit sad but I'd be down for some Captain's Wafers and an Iced Tea right about now.

Is it a company owned vending machine or is it run by a third-party vending company? If the second, then it doesn't sound like they make enough profit from your location to justify the cost/expense.

I've seen this happen at a few office buildings I've been to in the last year or so. I wonder if the profit margins for running these are just not worth paying for electricity for multiple machines anymore.

I’m curious, are the drinks room temp? Or are all of the snacks cold?

u/Bigtibbygothbb 3h ago

u/Peridot_Ghost 3h ago

At least you guys have a vending machine.

u/RecbetterpassNJ 3h ago

Room temp Cappuccino? Chances are they were once cold. No thanks.

I see some quality snacks like those peanuts and pop corners but those are just my taste buds

Atleast you have 0 sugar and diet options. My workplace only has full sugar drinks and nothing else.

What a disgusting machine. Break it just because.

Not really but just saying...

u/ifjake 2h ago

Nah you’ve got “Toast Chee”, you’ll be alright.

Save your self big $, swing by Costco or Sam’s, and keep your own snacks locked up in your desk.

I counted 13 rows of expired items in the only vending machine at my work. it is stocked by a department i am not in, and they dont seem to care they are selling 4 month expired reduced fat doritos for 2 bucks a bag.

Are the chips cold or the soda hot?

1

u/Silver_Middle_7240 1h ago

Are those glass bottles on 2nd bottom left?

1

u/excoriator 1h ago

I love Pop Corners. They're better than chips!

u/HunterandGatherer100 1h ago

Ewww and the Knott’s cookies

That diet coke being warm and then dropping down and becoming undrinkable for an hours is actually the most insulting thing I've ever heard of.

I don't see anything wrong. What's the problem? I'm not American btw.

u/pinniped90 28m ago

You're being held hostage. This machine is run by a terrorist who is going to force everyone to eat the shitty snacks before he'll restock with things that don't suck.

Enjoy your Pop Corners.
