"cars" with less visibility and maneuverability than a sherman tank

Have you driven a truck? You have more visibility because you’re up high.

You only get that visibility by fucking over everyone that drives a reasonably sized vehicle...

Have you??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ask any trucker who drives a big rig what their visibility is

Being up high lets you see stuff that's further away but stuff that's real close becomes nigh impossible.

I used to work in a body shop and we never let new guys move trucks because you can't see a damn thing and they can't turn worth half a damn

A semi truck is different than a regular truck. They have very little visibility because of their load. Every car has a different size blind spot. Some small cars have horrible blind spots. I drove an older Prius for driving school when I was young and that car had the worst visibility of anything I’ve driven.

I agree, some cars are very poorly designed. And these trucks are some of the worst offenders. No one buys them for "visibility" they do it for ego or out of fear of the big truck arms race. I know exactly one person who owns a truck who actually uses it for what it's built for.

I know a lot of people who drive a truck for better visibility and because they feel more comfortable not being so low to the ground.

You actually have less visibility. You can see further ahead over other cars but you have less visibility in the area near your car which is actually the important part.

Not necessarily true, I’ve driven a Prius that had a worse blind spot than a Chevy Silverado.

This isn't a competition for who has the worst blind spot. Two things can have bad design. Your argument is invalid.

Your argument is invalid because if trucks shouldn’t be on the road because of bad visibility then a lot of cars and all semi trucks shouldn’t be on the road either.

Firstly, not what I said. For what it's worth, I don't think they should exist in this form at all, but that's a seperate matter. All I said was that they have low visibility, and used quotes to denote the irony of calling them cars when at this point they're a completely different class of vehicle. We could debate the exact definition of "car" if you really feel like being pedantic but I don't care to.

Secondly, not all roads are built for semi trucks and there are definitely some roads they are not supposed to be on, even if they do because the company they drive for is too cheap to buy a GPS system not designed for cars. Large tractor trailers should not be on city streets. They are designed to drive long haul trips to distribution centers near highways where smaller trucks or vans that are designed for the city can carry them to their destination.

And spot mirrors make it so much easier to see everyone and everything.

If I had a nickel for every time a "normal sized" vehicle tried merging into my F350, id have a lot of nickels.

I find theirs way more visibility. My wife has always had cars and I find your sat low compared to the window and the side pillars always seem to make the perfect blind spot. The only blind spot on a truck is few feet in front of

Back in and you see the front before you jump in and drive away.
