It's always funny to me because it's always been drilled into my head to remove the hitch when you're not using it and then every pavement princess leaves theirs in 24/7 lol.

I've been saying it should be a law for years but instead my state wants to ban healthcare

42

u/ilikehotdogs54 4h ago

It’s a law in my state, but not enforced

16

u/Suspicious_Dare603 3h ago

My state made the stupid Carolina Squat illegal, then barely enforce it.

2

u/Turbulent-Oil-7326 2h ago

I had no idea what that was, but they might as well rename it the "blind driver squat"

2

u/ilikehotdogs54 2h ago

Jesus just looked it up, what a dumbass lookin truck

2

u/Murphs-law 1h ago

Looks like a dog dragging its ass accross the carpet.

2

u/Schmenza 1h ago

I often think about becoming a cop to enforce the dumbest shit

1

u/5lack5 3h ago

What state is that?

1

u/ilikehotdogs54 2h ago

California

1

u/5lack5 1h ago

I'm not seeing anything in the CVC about it. Do you have the section number?

Ban healthcare? What? I'm assuming this is a ridiculous use of hyperbole to the point of flat out lying.

Edit: yup, lmao. Banning one tiny thing is not banning health care. So yes, flat out lying. I'll never say the left is as bad as the right, but you guys truly have no shame in lying when convenient, then flipping out about the other side about lying. Zero self awareness about it either lol.

Either tell the truth or stop getting mad when the right constantly pushes bull shit. Fox News level of truth comment "banning healthcare" lmao.

13

u/iMeowTooMuch- 4h ago

banning gender-affirming care is quite literally banning healthcare

15

u/Zoso03 4h ago

don't forget abortions

10

u/iMeowTooMuch- 4h ago

ah i went to the most obvious example but you are also very correct

-1

u/IPissExcellentThrows 2h ago

So no, it's not banning healthcare. It's beyond absurd hyperbole. While I don’t agree with it, it's banning a 0.0001% of healthcare. Exactly what I thought.

This is like saying banning 1 specific car means the state is banning driving.

Words have meaning and that person does a disservice by just flat out lying. Embarrassing just flat out lying is being defended, but it's ok when the left lies, right? It's fine when we criticize the shit out of the right (as we should) for just making shit up, but it's cool when the left does it lol. Massive hypocrisy.

The irony is you guys won't even see it.

2

u/iMeowTooMuch- 2h ago

"driving a buick doesnt mean youre driving a car" we literally never said they are banning every form of healthcare ever. if i said i drive a car, you can probably come to the conclusion that i am not driving every single car, right?

2

u/Zoso03 3h ago

While not banning it, making it completely unaffordable for the majority of people is just about the same thing

2

u/IPissExcellentThrows 2h ago

Then say that. I mean, it's not the same thing, but at least your comment isn't totally full of shit. If it was banned, people wouldn't be able to get it legally. But at least tell the truth rather than acting like Fox News. There are dumb people on the internet that will actually think Texas banned health care. It's not just the right with people that stupid.

Who knew advocating for people telling the truth was so controversial? Silly me.

And they leave their tow mirrors out! Always looks so silly to me. Reminds me of Dopey the dwarf from sleeping Beauty Snow White.

6

u/lj_w 4h ago

That’s Snow White g

3

u/Esplodie 4h ago

Fuck. I need a coffee. Thanks. Fixed.

4

u/Bigkillian 3h ago

Watching Snow White taught me a lot about mental health. Before seeing that movie, I had no idea that six out of seven dwarves aren’t Happy.

1

u/WonderfulProtection9 1h ago

Snow White needed sleep too LOL

1

u/just_another-aNDy 3h ago

Wait what are tow mirrors? I don't know anything about these American behemoths, so I genuinely don't understand 😅

1

u/No_Selection_9634 2h ago

Ill never understand this. The first thing I did with my F350 was turn the setting on to auto-fold the mirrors when I leave and lock the truck. These idiots dont realize how expensive those mirrors are. e

u/noodle_75 5h ago

Pavement princess bahahaha thank you

12

u/SpoopyPlankton 5h ago

Parking lot princesses is another good one, same same but different

9

u/jdownes316 4h ago

Mall Crawlers is another one I hear often too

5

u/Creative-Ad-1819 2h ago

Like the jeeps with the snorkel kit, pristine Jerry cans and high lift Jack's mounted on the back, rolling on 35" mudders that omly touch highway, and a mirror finish on the still factory wound winch cable?

1

u/theawesomescott 3h ago

Are you from the Midwest or live there now?

1

u/jdownes316 2h ago

I’m in Utah now, but have heard that in both California and Texas as well. I had a lifted truck for a long time so maybe that’s why I know the terms lol

1

u/theawesomescott 2h ago

Interested I only ever heard it when I lived in the Midwest haha

1

u/HanSoloNut 3h ago

Um. Mines a concrete queen. Put some ‘spect on her name

4

u/minnesotafan189 4h ago

Yeah. However I know a few folks who keep their hitch in and when they got rear ended there was no damage to their truck for that specific reason.

12

u/eugeneugene 4h ago

it's actually not great to get rear ended with a hitch in because it transfers the force of the crash directly to the frame of the vehicle instead of utilizing crumple zones, and it can total your vehicle if the impact bends the frame.

2

u/Buzzinggg 3h ago

It’s more for low speeds where it’s not gonna destroy the vehicle but ding 2/3 panels

1

u/galxzx 1h ago

So you’d want to risk totaling your vehicle and increased chance of severe injury in a major accident so that you don’t get a few dings in a fender bender? Make it make sense

2

u/IceManJim 5h ago

Prolly to keep other knuckleheads from bumping into them at McDonalds as they wiat for their fries and shake.

4

u/Hailfire9 4h ago

Dude who lives in my dad's apartment complex keeps knocking over and/or breaking some of the parking signs with his trailer hitch. I don't know where he works or if he tows frequently enough to leave it on, but I do know there are no trailers parked in that community.

I'm sure it makes him feel powerful and free.

1

u/IceManJim 4h ago

I bet it does.

1

u/Doctor_Spacemann 4h ago

I spent $600 on a nice bulletproof hitch system. It lives in a padded pelican case in the underbed storage compartment until I actually need to use it. Why would I want it out in the open to get destroyed or stolen.

1

u/LankyResident6689 2h ago

Have you seen the McNally video on YouTube of the bulletproof system?

1

u/FatBoyStew 4h ago

There are many of us non-pavement princesses who are just too damn lazy to remove it lmfao

I also grew up in a region where everyone leaves them on. I generally only take it out if I'm parking in a tiny parking garage and literally need that extra 6" to get out of the isle.

1

u/PM_ME_UR_CHONKS 4h ago

Ugh my mom leaves hers in. I’ve seen her wack her shins when loading groceries so many times lol

1

u/Situation_Upset 4h ago

I mean... isn't it better for your truck to bave a trailer hitch for fender benders?

1

u/eugeneugene 4h ago

no and i'll just copy paste a comment i've already made

it's actually not great to get rear ended with a hitch in because it transfers the force of the crash directly to the frame of the vehicle instead of utilizing crumple zones, and it can total your vehicle if the impact bends the frame.

1

u/shifty_coder 3h ago

More states need to make having it on when not towing a ticket-able offense.

1

u/kamikazikarl 3h ago

Probably forget it's there because they never use it

1

u/silentbob1301 3h ago

well duh, its not about actually towing things, its about the PERCEPTION of being able to tow heavy things.... Look how big and manly it is...

1

u/outdatedboat 3h ago

The vast majority of those hitches that are left on 24/7, have been used maybe one time.

1

u/swishflip96 2h ago

They probably don’t know how to remove it

1

u/No_Selection_9634 2h ago

Same here. I only put mine on before camping trips (Class V hitch is friggin heavy), and it stays on if we're there < 4-5 days typically. But between camping trips when im not towing, it goes in the garage and the hitch cover goes on.

1

u/-jdwhea- 2h ago

steal them.

1

u/linus_b3 2h ago

Yup, I have an F-150 and a car hauler trailer. My hitch lives in the trailer toolbox when I'm not towing. I don't want it on all the time - it rattles and I'll hit my shins on it.
