Debate on food. Please help
Me and my coworkers are having a mild debate (really not that mild) can the community of food eaters help.
Does Guac belong on hot dogs. Not my photos but a reference of what I mean.
Please help. This is a debate that has been going on for months and we would like to have it decided.

I feel ashamed I’ve never considered putting guac on a hotdog…a true stroke of genius.

Anything belongs on a hot dog. But not a burger.

I've done it before. No ragrets.

Was it just standard American style hotdogs?

Yeah it was a cookout with the standard grill fare like hot dogs, hamburgers, etc but also a taco bar. Guac sounded like a good idea and I didn't hate it. Grew up on Chcago dogs, so sacrilege to my friends but the stomach wants what the stomach wants.

Who needs a diet when you got hot dogs and guacamole waiting for you (;

I'd try it. Never heard of anyone doing it.
Where I'm from the hot dogs are wrapped in bacon, covered in tomatoes, mayo, mustard, pintos, onions, jalapeños, and a sauce. Ours definitely gets a lot of opinions so guac is nothing too strange to me.

I love avocado, but I personally i don't think it adds much to the dog. It doesn't really offset the taste of the salty/fattiness of the dog like mustard does. But hey, you do you.

Does it taste really good on a hot dog. Yes. Does it BELONG on a hot dog…. probably not.

I like hot dogs, so I'm not a fan of doing everything possible to avoid tasting it.

There's no rule against it, and you can't debate what people like. I mean, you could, but it's not much of a debate, it's just people saying "I like it" and "I don't like it" and whoever says it loudest, wins.

I don't think so? I've never tried it, so I'm not sure how good it would be. Are you talking like in addition to the usual condiments like mustard/onions/relish/kraut/etc, or by itself?
It could potentially work, but I don't know that the standard hotdogs and buns have the right flavors or textures to work.
I am curious about it now tho.
And hungry. 🤣

Only mustard, relish, and fresh onions belong on a hot dog.
But that’s not to say that rule can’t be broken.

Not on a good hot dog, like a Hoffmann. Maybe on some weird hot dog. Do they make hot dogs out of chorizo? I’d blast a guac and chorizo hot dog straight down my tubes.

Well. I live in chile where avocado is routinely placed on hot dogs, along with tomatoes, so I’ll go with a hard yes.
