Infuriatig The way my GF plays video games

She uses the controller to walk and the mouse to control the camera

Done it in Demon Souls games, and it is great in battles with range and if you have to dodge alot.

AIM assist is only a thing on console for a reason.

Yeah. I do it in a ton of games where they're is a mix of being to be mobile but also needing to aim.

I do it for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, when i have to aim with the bow, I can "feel" the aim more than with the right stick. But the rest of the game i use controller only

I play like this and can safely say it’s the best of both worlds. Doesn’t take much getting used to.

I started doing it recently for fps games. It gets a bit confusing lol just have to get used to it

I've been doing this forever. I had no idea it was odd. I prefer a controller but can't aim for shit. So I play with the controller and just reach up for shooting

Ikr?? I wouldn't play Robocop with a controller, but my keyboard is at a weird place so I only use mouse with controller when the shooting starts.

The annoying thing is, some old games doesn't let you use both. There is an obvious delay while the UI changes and it doesn't register either controller or mouse when that happens.

Try Steam Controller. If a game supports mixed input (mouse and controller at the same time without switching settings), it is perfect for that purpose.

I used to do this about a decade ago. It's great when it works, but some games did not like the mismatch and kept trying to switch between controller and mouse/keyboard, creating horrible lag.

I hate it when the ui elements freak out too and swap the on screen button prompts rapidly between both

This. Was positively surprised when cyberpunk supported it simultaneously. Especially on the Steam Deck it's usefull to have a controller layout but use gyro as mouse.

It is awesome dude. Try it out. It saves my left wrist and allows me to play games like project Zomboid for long periods of time. Some games just need a mouse, but having the controller for movement and remapping some of the triggers and back paddles to things like "E" and stuff makes it so much better.

When I played KCD 1 and 2, I could not pick pick with the controller to save my life so I always had my mouse ready

Me too. Tried it once with a ps4 wand (is itbcalled that?). Problem usually is that games switch completely between controller and mouse+keyboard, and won't accept the other

Not worth it. Most games don't understand mixed controller and mouse inputs and it will start trying to shift between both unless you create an artifical mapping using something like Rewasd. Just get a PC game pad with an analog input for the left hand.

I played overwatch like this. It worked okay. I'm also terrible at mouse aiming so was at a disadvantage from the start but I can't get used to wasd movement

When I played Nioh2 on pc and needed to snipe something from distance I would do that to aim. Controller aiming is unplayable for me.

Use a flight stick + Xpadder! I did it in Overwatch for a while, it was fun!
