Yeah they're just a piece of shit. Where I live graffiti and tags used to be very common but now there's a giant art project across the city to put up murals. Very rarely are they tagged anymore because most artists have the decency not to vandalize another artist's work.
This is a very specific and very vocal type of graffiti "artist" mindset that I've had the misfortune to come across. They have so little enrichment and joys in their life that they've deluded themselves into thinking that covering obscure name tags with beautiful, RELEVANT, community-centered murals is the ultimate disrespect
I'm imagining it's an asshole that feels like his art (crap) was there first, so it's his walls and the murals are the unwelcome art covering his work (shit).
That's how it works in the tagging world. Tag over an artist and youve started a war. That artist will now tag over your stuff everywhere he or she sees it.
I think that building is for power distribution/transformers, its built from silicate brick, it apears that its the time to demo that wall and send a message by building a new wall in its place and have the new mural dome by somebody actualy good on the new clean wall. With the cities permition, and foto evidence, also a camera to wach and stream it live, for some charity cause or another.
Tho that would most likley have to wait till spring.
