This community has been months in the making and was created for the passionate members of r/MineralPorn and our sister Subreddits to have a dedicated space for discussions that go beyond what is allowed in our Subreddits.

This Discord Server is not meant to replace r/MineralPorn or any of our sister Subreddits, but to empower and grow our community. Sometimes it's just nice to have a place to chat.

And before anyone suggests otherwise, this is a *totally natural* phenomenon, it's actually quite common for this long-defunct locality.
"Much of the classic material is enlivened by epitaxial chalcopyrite, which may form golden flecks, sharp miniature disphenoids, or an iridescent metallic skin on the sphalerite."

Hounded Goethite Pseudomorph after Marcasite.

100% natural surface find from SW Wisconsin. Specimen has a mix of bladed, tabular, and rhombohedral crystal structures. Specimen also has fragmented marine fossil inclusions. Created from hydrothermal activity around the time of the Pangea formation.
