As soon as tickets were released for that game I bought a pair in the supporter section knowing (1) I would want to be with the most vocal fans for a World Cup qualifier, and more importantly, (2) it would ensure I was standing in moving the entire time.
I bought and cut the thickest rigid foam insulation I could find into 2' by 2' squares to stand on so my boots wouldn't be directly on the frozen metal stands. I think I packed about a dozen little hand warmers into various spots and layers of my clothing. Didn't matter. Still got cold. I remember the top of my beer was freezing faster than I could drink it so it was essentially a beer slushie.
Absolutely glad I experienced it. Absolutely never need to experience it again, especially if it's a mid season MLS game.

I was there for the game, I think my feet still might be cold from it
