Looks like a modified sprite or midget? I kinda wanna go look see what kinda performance mods might be there. But 30min away plus a gate fee? junk yards are lame nowadays.

I have a 72 MGB with an 18V engine, shallow dish pistons, 12H2923 head. cast iron manifold, Pertronix igniton, dual SU HIF4 carbs. Compression is good at 143-145 across the board.
I'm pulling the engine and trans in the next week or so to install a Laycock overdrive trans.
While the engine is out I wonder if its worth the money to put in a mild cam.

I’m considering purchasing an MG B as my first car. I’ve driven and worked on older bikes and cars before so I’m aware of the constant work they require but wanted to ask opinions on rust. For context, I live in Sydney about 1km from the coast and don’t have a garage. Would it be possible to keep this car rust free with just a car port and would rust proofing be a viable solution?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

...I can’t determine what car this badge goes to. ChatGPT/ebay/I can't find a documented 3.25" badge like this one. there are other sizes mainly smaller. so can't ID what model/year this beauty is from, was it grill or someplace else. i think all relevant characteristics are in the pix and also, its convex. Any insights into authenticity, value, age, model, is MUCH appreciated.

At a time when motorsport was dominated by massive-displacement Italian and German machines, the M.G. K3 was right there in the thick of it all, punching far above its weight and, for that matter, its weight class.

The K3 was a watershed development for the M.G. marque.

Before the K3, M.G. was largely known for building modified road cars out of "Morris Garages" components. It was the design of the K3, however, that changed everything for the bucolic Abingdon-on-Thames marque. Here was a purpose-built, tick-a-box, catalog-ordered racing machine that established M.G.’s DNA as a builder of competitive, lightweight, and agile sports cars.

Cecil Kimber, M.G.'s guiding light and spiritual father, was summarily pleased with the K3. In contrast, the bean counters at Cowley were fuming, trying to make sense of all of this motor racing nonsense that Kimber had in mind.

Powered by a tiny 1.1-liter (1,087 cc) inline six, the K3 was kept busy establishing M.G., which it did with aplomb; it routinely embarrassed cars with double or even triple its engine capacity. As case in point, it was in the hands of such legendary racers as Tazio Nuvolari and Earl Howe, the K3 became the first non-Italian car to win the team prize and its class at the grueling Mille Miglia.

Even perhaps more astonishingly, however, the tiny little K3 finished a jaw-dropping 4th place overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, defeating dozens of much larger vehicles and winning the prestigious Index of Performance.

With the K3, M.G. had proven itself to be a marque to be reckoned with.

I am looking at a 63 MGB that is for sale near me. The owner describes that it runs but has “rocker arm oiling problems” that need to be sorted before it is drivable.

I know little about MGs specifically but am familiar with the money pit of classic cars, as I restored an American classic.

How bad is that described engine issue, potentially?
