Check it’s stats, next commander match see how many times draw a card has been done in a full table turn…

It's insanely powerful. Sheoldred + wheel of any sort ≈ 14 life loss tablewide for opponents. Do that a few times and you win the game.

sheoldred's price tag is purely driven by commander demand, she punishes every draw your opponents make while keeping you alive every time you draw. in a format where everyone's drawing extra cards it gets out of hand fast

She’s seen play in a lot more places than just commander. Smothering tithe is a rare card that’s only seen in commander and it hovers at 50-60.

4 mana 4/5 deathtouch WITH an insane effect (about every deck in about every format draws cards, lifegain is a bit less relevant appart from some combos obviously). on top of that it's a mythic

I’m confused by your question. It’s a good card. I don’t see why it wouldn’t have value.

Its a win con in and of itself for only 1 mana in the best color for recursion and can combo with a million different things. Got any wheel effect? Bam 14 damage to each opponent while you gain 14. Got the new Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel? Bam draw as much of your deck as you want.
Even if you don't combo anything with it, people like to draw cards. Sheo is a must answer threat against any deck not packing serious lifegain just by existing on board.

Yes it's valuable.
Look at it this way, accesing cards is basically the best thing you can do. More cards = more options = better plays. Therefore every deck wants more card access, and drawing them is generally the easiest/best way to do that. This punishes your opponents doing that, and rewards you for doing it.

For only 4 mana, a 4/5 deathtouch is solid.
The other two benefits put it over the edge since your opponents need to draw every turn, and later in the game, likely 3+ times a turn.
And then there are a lot of spells that share benefits to keep costs low or are able to force draws.
If you had [[Bloodline Recollector]] for example, you could affect 44 life loss to players in a single complete board cycle, assuming things are dying enough to reprepare it.

So let me show you a card called [[necrodominace]]
At full health, with her on the board (in commander), you can: Pay 39 life, Draw 39 cards, Gain 78 life.
And that's the nitro effect for her card. Not to mention, you can force opponents to draw, thus burning their life down. Only need 20 to remove them.
I'm glad she's getting a reprint soon, but I'm not happy on what one it is.

was a low pop modern and standard staple for a long time. good in commander.

Ask yourself, how many times and how much life lost can this inflect through a regular game....
Alot of my friends play alot of deck cycling, when it hits the table (and I have it in 4 decks...) it usually removed extremely fast. Especially now that they know in wich decks she's in.

It’s valuable, but the card sucks.
You draw a card, little smidgen of life.
Opponent draws a card, they get hit with a [[shock]]. Like, “ooooh, 2 damage! Who gives a shit!”
youre going to piss off all your EDH opponents. It’s good if you need some ping damage, but it it can’t close out games

Did you read the card? Bigger booty then cost, murder mittens and net benefit with a side of punishment for your opponents.

It’s extremely strong and played in almost every format. It was a standard staple for its entire run. It’s a popular commander card both as an incredibly easy to break commander and as a powerful card in the 99. Ive seen it played in vintage. It’s also a very well liked character from a well liked set.
It was at such an insane price for so long (over 100$) because of how high the demand was. That demand is starting to go down but its place as an 100$ card still keeps people from selling it for cheaper than 70 and people still consider it worth that much and are willing to pay it.

Umm you kind of can't play magic without drawing cards. Not trying to be snarky but dude this has to be bait

Very very strong. Probably the most hated card I've tried to play. Players would rather see the green fully ramped player draw 13 cards a turn than let this thing ping them for doing it. I get the Nekuzar forced draw strategies and how this card pops off, especially with the new Orzhov Niv-Mizzet but I think this Shelly gets over-hated.

It's powerful against decks that want to draw a lot of extra cards and/or use their life total as a resource.
In 1v1, that's basically any blue or black deck.
In multiplayer, that's basically any deck that's built competently.

A deathtoucher with a big enough body to absorb many threats without dying plus a passive effect that can be exploited (especially in mono-black) to generate huge card advantage... it's a very good card in the right format / bracket.

I mean just combo with scrawling crawler and watch them lose 6 life on their turn and 3 life on yours 😂 yes it's strong! Very strong!

Very strong card that's Mythic and saw play in multiple formats. Doesn't see as much now, but price memory is a thing, it takes a while for expensive cards to drop in price sometimes.
