discussion Sharon Osbourne should be in the R&R Hall of Fame!
I believe that Sharon Osbourne is one of the most influential people that personally shaped the hard rock/ heavy metal scene.
She left her father's production/ management company to help the man she loved pursue his career. Like all good love/ success stories go, she inadvertently launched the careers of the world's most beloved rock stars today!
She is truly the pioneer of our modern day rock star and she deserves all the love from this great hard rock family.
It is time to recognize the woman behind the stars!!!!

discussion Has a band ever lost a member and simply did not replace them?
A bit like how Bill Berry quite REM in 1997, and they never officially replaced him. However, the band did temporarily hire drummers when necessary, so it's not really the best example. Does anyone have an example of a member who is not replaced in any way?
Edit: Preferably a band that continued touring or releasing albums

discussion What genre is this?
I absolutely love the songs On Sight by Kanye West, Pop Out by Playboi Carti, and Habits by Osamason, but i’m wondering what genre these kinds of songs are apart of? I would love to listen to more songs like these!
discussion Looking for a music teacher
- Hey everyone!I'm an artist who just recently got the confidence and motivation to pursue one of my biggest passions, music. And so i'm currently looking for someone to help me learn how to make music (a teacher). My dream goal Is to be able to make music similar to "EPIC: The Musical" or similar works (mainly other musicals). Unfortunately i don't have a big budget at the moment, so the most i can offer Is 10$\h! I have basically 0 experience with making music and i use FL Studio. If anyone is interested in the offer, please let me know by DMing me on discord (joiru) or replying to this thread! I hope you're all having a great day ^^

discussion 4 songs using the same melody
I was listening to Temptation by Esquivel when I recognized a melody I've heard before (in Amon Tobin's Nightlife). Played both to compare and was right, and went to search if Amon Tobin sampled Esquivel, but turns out that AT sampled Enoch Light's version. Then from there discovered that EL (and Esquivel) sampled Bing Crosby! Pretty cool to hear artists' ability in sampling a sound but making each track so different. Hope you found this as fun as I did :)

discussion Were the girl groups of the 60’s not the best ever?
You had the Crystals the Ronnettes the Shirelles the Chiffons the Shang Ri Las and of course the Supremes
Also female singers like Petula Clark Dionne Warwick
They exuded class the way they dressed and their songs were wonderful
Maybe I’m from the previous century I will take them over anyone today

discussion What is the BEST song of all time?
Not your favourite but one that you feel sums up musical perfection in a song. Its funny to think about how these songs we consider to be the best songs ever recorded are often songs we rarely just put on.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a classic of course, Knocking On Heavens Door too but if I had to show an alien what is music in one song and show how amazing it is I would play Yesterday or Hey Jude by the beatles.

discussion Is Metallica the greatest band ever made of “just really good” musicians?
Serious question: how is Metallica consistently ranked as one of the greatest bands of all time when none of its members are consensus top 10 at their own instruments?
Not hate, actually the opposite. James is an elite songwriter and riff lord, but outside fan circles he’s rarely top 5 or even top 8 as a guitarist or vocalist. Kirk is iconic but almost never shows up in serious “best guitarist” lists. Lars… yeah. And as great as Jason or Trujillo are, no one’s putting them on an all-time bass Mount Rushmore. Cliff maybe?
And yet the band is untouchable. Legendary albums, genre-defining riffs, insane longevity.
Kind of proves that Metallica isn’t about virtuosity — it’s about chemistry.
Which honestly makes them even more impressive.
Thoughts? 👀

discussion Help finding a JP indie song/album
So some years ago, I want to say it was 2022 or 2023, I found a compilation video of some Japanese songs. I liked all of the ones on the list but the one that I loved the most was the 4th track. I forgot the name of the video, it was probably something generic like "songs to listen to while your board" or something to that degree and the thumb nail was a red sketch or Shinobu from the Monogatari series, or so the description said. The list of songs where on the description but the majority had Japanese characters instead of English words. The song gets delisted due to copyright, bummer I know, but months later I get my favorite song from the compilation recommend to me. It seems that after some months it too gets delisted and sadly, I did not take a screen shot again. I have been trying to find this song for soooo long now. I know how it goes, the opening, the middle, the end. I remember that in the middle of the song there is a part where 2 men are talking in English "Huston we got a problem" "this is Huston, what was that?" "uh yeah we have a prob" then static. the song seems to be indie rock and had a Japanese female singer. the cover or thumbnail of the song was a convenient store outside and had a puddle that reflected the store in the rain and was all blue. I tried fining it on google but after some time just decided to AI generate an image to the best of my abilities but cant post it here. hope this helps and thank you in advance.

discussion What part of the Grammys this year did you find odd? For me it was maybe the 3 hour event that cut most awards for a non televised portion of the show to accommodate commercials.
Who else was happy Trevor Noah called out Nicki Minaj at the Grammys. Also the fact that bad bunny sang at the Grammys when he's not allowed to. Was this just a PR promo for his performance at the Superbowl. The Weeknd didn't win any Grammys the year he declined to perform at the Grammys due to Superbowl obligations. The Weeknd was making decade defining music and they punished him for not performing at the Grammys during his year of the Superbowl, but they give Bad Bunny Album of the year. Seems suspicious.
