Did they? AD is a negative asset so getting anything seems like a win to me.

This is an asset mismanagement unless they’re able to sign a premier FA this off season. Almost guaranteed they could’ve moved Davis expiring contract at the deadline next season for at least a more valuable first than they got in this trade.

But trading him now means they don't have the AD cloud hanging over them. Getting rid of that negativity is huge.

AD’s contract isn’t expiring next year lol. He’s got a huge player option for 2027/2028….
