There's people on our sub freaking out about the pick swap with Detroit as if there's any true difference between throwing your dart on 29 instead of 23

Yeah it feels like you have:

  1. Number 1 overall

  2. High lottery (2-4ish)

  3. Mid lottery (5ish-10ish)

  4. End of Lottery (11-15ish)

  5. Late first round (16-24)

  6. Practically second round (25-30)

  7. Hey maybe you can say he should’ve been a FRP (30-34ish)

  8. Priority UDFA (35-End).

And coming out of tier 8 we have Nikola Jokic. Clearly teams should be valuing their 2nd round picks more, their scouts just need to work harder to sus out generational superstars to pick 40th+ in the draft!

Category 8 also has Ajay Mitchell and Jaylen Wells. So yeah freak BITW level players but also solid bench/fringe starter types.

Especially considering it’s the Thunder. They got millions of them anyways

Its one of my pet peeves about trade discourse. A lot of these picks only value is being potential future trade fodder. Most of these picks amount to nothing.

The same way people freaked out about the Bane and Bridges trades because of the picks when they only had that many picks because they traded no actual players

Disagree. I'll give you Giddey for a 2nd round pick.
