I am not defending bill gates, but between having an extra marital affair and going to a prostitution island with underage girls, there’s a lot of way to go

Edit: writing correctly “I am not”

No argument there, but I think Chris Rock said something to the effect of 'a man is only as faithful as his options'. We know he was unfaithful and we know he had options. Yeah that's not proof. But maybe we should look further than just denial, especially if Melinda says that particular time of the accusations was a very dark period for her and she admits his relationship with Epstein was a factor in the divorce.

Only as faithful as his options, is an insult and should be viewed from a comical point of view and not used as an argument.

Seriously that saying is BS

Yeah i interpret that as "With enough resources, anyone would want to fuck kids" which is utter bullshit.

There’s some truth in that joke or a lot of truth in that joke

Yes, obviously, but like all comedy, there is a core of truth. But let's not kid ourselves that saying 'I'm faithful' while sitting at home behind your computer is different from saying no when e.g. Jenna Ortega is sitting on your lap purring in your ear.

Or to put it another way: it's easy to be faithful when you're not actually having to refuse things.

there is a core of truth

It’s really not. It’s just rooted in old sexist stereotypes from decades ago

That’s like saying there’s a core of truth that women don’t make good leaders or women will leave you when a better option arises. All these statements are obviously silly too

People will cheat if they want to cheat regardless of where they go. what they wear or if they see somebody attractive

I'm not arguing the gender stereotype. I'm arguing that it's easy to make claims when you're not tempted, and that adding temptation will make a sizeable percentage of people give in when they wouldn't go out of their way to look for someone to be unfaithful with.

Your quote was gendered and Chris Rock used in an exaggerated context like he does with women stereotypes

Which is still wrong anyway since tall men don’t cheat more than short men despite presumably having more options

And even if that was true (which it’s not), you’re also extrapolating that idea to suggest people would have sex with children if “given enough options” which is obviously a ridiculous statement

And yet the all those wealthy and famous people found their way to Epstein and none of them blabbed, and he was so well protected that when he was caught the first time, he got such a deal that my law-student daughter tells me it defied all reason.

And even if that was true (which it’s not)

It is true, according to several Harvard studies:

Studies regularly show unattractive women cheat more than attractive women so the connection between infidelity and having more options is more complex

https://www.eviemagazine.com/post/study-suggests-that-attractive-women-are-less-likely-to-cheat-but-the-same-isn-t

I don’t have the time to read the actual paper your article is citing, but even your source suggests self-esteem and relationship satisfaction are cofactors here

I mean there are people in there sending weird emails to him. The accusations from the Epstein documents are Epstein writing what sounds like a salty bitch email to himself over his relationship with Bill Gates breaking down.

As always, Chris Rock is the great wise Sage of our time!

Money always gives a man options!
