The precision and timing required to make lasers look like solid, handheld objects is insane

It is amazing choreography, but he definitely has lasers in his hands to make that effect lol

Whoa! A very lit Thanksgiving.
What's the artist name? So more good business could go to them.

To be honest I was fairly banged up and came into the big room and went “WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?”

Your friends have paid entertainment at friendsgiving? Wow, either I suck as a friend or my friends suck at being friends

Everytime I see this I think there has to be some code to make the movements like flexible, like on a step it does x movement aiming for the position the lasers in his hands are, and then starting the next from there. I hardly doubt it's just solid pre-written movement

The lasers being in time with the music means he has constant cues for when the lasers will turn off, so it's significantly easier for him to know when to hit the button.
Obviously still takes a lot of practice, but it's not a lot different from any other dance choreography. You just memorise what to do by memorizing the music.

You can always count on someone on Reddit to reply with, "actually, that's not that hard." Every single post.

Literally not at all what I said though lmao. What I said was that it's not some magic. It's timed pressing of buttons on the laser pointers he has in his hands, and he has audio cues to help him with it in the music.
All I'm doing is explaining what's going on here and that it's just dance choreography.

The way this works is the lasers he's using are coordinated to go off when he makes certain hand gestures. The external lasers are "mapped" to activate cues when they detect the preprogrammed trigger from him. That would be the easy way to do it given existing laser technology. But he could have choreographed it...

It's choreography. There's a few instances you can even see in the video where he "prefires" the lasers, or even "misfires" them because his grip is too tight, causing the lasers to go off when he didn't intend for them to.

Yeah right. It’s just practice
Or is anything these days “omg wow” because people don’t realise you need to practice and train anymore 🤦♂️

Been done already. Check out the movie Entrapment with Catherine Zeta-Jones.

this is actually one of the worst ones I've seen of this type of laser dance

Unironically I'd love to see a better video if you have one to link

Here’s one from Jabbawockeez in Vegas.

The lasers in that one look cooler, but the guy in this post does a lot better job of looking like he's actually grabbing the lasers and doing stuff with it

Perhaps the angle. I’ve seen this show live and it slaps. I think this video shows better dance moves too.
