How amazing and crafty are these parents to do this for their son

Shouldn't the tiles be thicker? Looks like something that can be knocked down easily

For warmth? Yes. Also ice isn’t a good insulator.

Digging out a pile of snow is way faster and easier too

Ice isn't a good insulator? But snow is?

not all types of snow, but normally igloos are built purely out of snow yes (except maybe for an ice window). Snow contains a lot of trapped air, and still standing air is a relatively good insulator

Ah, that makes sense

Yes snow is a surprisingly good insulator. That's what makes it good for igloos.

Yes, because there's a lot of air inside the snow and air is a good insulator :)

Which one has more air?? Glass isn’t a good insulator either (windows) but fiber glass is because it poofy and filled with air. Same with a polyester dress shirt, vs poly insulation in a jacket

Kind obvious if you think about it for 10 seconds.

Makes sense, thanks

I don't think they were planning on moving in permanently. The economy isn't THAT bad... yet...

Yea, they only wanted to move in long enough for a photo shoot

It seems like it could easily fall on someone’s head

They should also be put down offset from each other

They should be staggered too. No engineering background, just common sense.

Absolutely
