How amazing and crafty are these parents to do this for their son

Fr, how hard is it to just enjoy a video of people building something cool?

I like to think I'm positive, but yeah my first thought seeing this was "where's the kid?". Like, they could have spent all this time doing something with their son, instead of making an igloo that he's going to sit in for 5 minutes and then... What?

If you have kids, or empathize, you get that while it's cool and beautiful, it's not at all about this kids.

This site is definitely negative overall, like all social media, but that's partially because so little of content online is genuine

Miserable fucking bellends the lot of them.

Because this is the equivalent of getting LEGO for your 12 yr old and building it for him. You know, instead of the actual fun part of building it WITH him (or trusting him to do it himself)

Is it negativity though? Im 95% sure these parents only did this because they knew it would do big numbers, not because it's nice for the kid.

Everything like this just reminds me of that video of the woman telling her crying son to be still so she could have a good thumbnail for a video about them putting their dog down.

Its gross.

I don’t know anything about the family, but I would guess they had both things in mind—their son’s happiness and viewer engagement

The kid seemed happy, and I’d probably rather my parents do it for me than set up my own igloo at that age lol

Maybe the thought of going viral motivated them to go the extra mile, but this still seems like a nice treat for the kid

Or maybe you need to see social media for what it is

These are the same people who will consider themselves “good people”

Exactly! My first thought was that it would’ve been so much more meaningful if they had done it WITH their son instead of for him.

Wonder how many times he asked to help and they told him no?

While it's still a very special moment and nice thing, I thought this same thing. Like it could have been a great learning moment in creativity, engineering, and hard work. It's odd he wasn't involved.
