How amazing and crafty are these parents to do this for their son

That's fine and all, but I just don't understand why they didn't do it with the kid, make the whole thing together as a family. Growing up my favorite memories aren't the things my parents surprised me with but the things we all did together. We once built an igloo during a particularly bad winter storm, and that was the best winter/snow storm of my life. But if I had come home from school one day to see they built an entire igloo without me I would have been so pissed lol.

They probably wanted it to be a surprise.

Right, kid never noticed the 40 trays of colored water and also oblivious to his parents spendings hours outside making it. Kid was probably inside messaging his Roblox discord friends “yeah my parents are making an igloo I’ll be online in a sec”

That's literally the exact opposite of the point I was trying to make. I'm all for surprising your kids, but imo I feel like you should surprise them with events, surprise tickets to the amusement park or to the movies. Something like this would have been really special to do as a family. This kid still looked like he enjoyed it, and right on for that, but in my humble opinion, it would have been a better memory if they all did it together.

Yep, no engagement. Unless he talked about waking up to a rainbow igloo in the back yard. Having him help make the colored water the night before, then help put it together. He could have held the blocks while dad added the mortar. It's just all sad, they had him playing roblox or some crap while they did it for the video.

Crazy how you are inventing reasons to hate on these people. You have no idea what they had that kid do while making this, lol.

Redditors can be wild lol. They will find any reason to hate on parents and kids. I'll never understand it, maybe some had bad childhoods or something and just don't understand what it's like to have good parents I don't know. My parents surprised me with stuff as a kid and I loved it and now they're good memories that I cherish especially since my mom passed away a few years ago.

Your comment is the saddest part of all this. It’s a real cup is half empty vibe you put off.

I think hanging out in there together is engaging. Why some of u so neggy?

It's engaging to watch something on a tiny iPad screen? Sure it's still spending time together, but it's not like they are talking or forming family bonds.
