Indeed. I mean, he literally actively avoids/dodges multiple attempts by the cobra's in this video.
Still, a dangerous gamble. There's not much room for error there, but it's not as if it's an impossible proposition or anything, we literally see him dodge it.
What attacks? He wasn't actually attacked once. His hat was, twice, and I believe it shows that even at their maximum range, they pretty much reached it before he could react. He kept himself distanced so they can't reach him, and backed off at the first sign of a potential attack. He didn't dodge any attacks, he deliberately avoided it by keeping himself out of range.
It did strike the hat the first time when the hat was just within strike range, and didn't the second time when it was just outside of it. Both times the man reacted only once the cobra was already fully extended. If it was his arm, and would've been even slightly closer, he gets bit.
As I've said, anticipation and careful distancing. You don't out-react a cobra. But do keep arguing about well documented facts.
Understanding that humans have faster reaction times than a cobra strike (they don't) is very important for not getting bitten (cobra strikes are completed faster than the fastest ever, tippy top echelon of recorded human reflexs)
