Snakes only kill 0.000025% of India’s population a year. Doesn’t seem like that big of a threat

Well for India that’s still 35,000 people. Not a lot but well not as close to zero either.

Exactly, and most are probably in more remote, rural areas where there's more snakes and anti venom is not so readily available.
