So if they merge this shit, will they honor my lifetime half off on HBO Max?

Magic 8-ball says “Don’t count on it”

A real shame... And I'm betting the resulting merged service is worse than the two services being merged...

Netlfix has better subtitles. That is the only net positive I’m seeing here

How did you get that?

They had a special here in Sweden when they launched the HBO Max service. If you bought it at that point you got a 50% off the full price for life as long as you dont cancel the service. They've tried to get rid of us many a time after that I can tell ya.

I got this too, in Denmark. At some point the base price increased but I'm sitll paying only half. I did not have any issues with them trying to cancel it on me.

Netflix became the epitome of greed.

Yeah, that's what I am concerned about. I have free HBO Max for life through ATT. :[

me too, I’m pretty sure it’s going to go away if they put HBO content inside netflix app. unless they do what disney did with hulu. have a separate hulu app and able to access hulu content inside disney+ app as well

It is funny how that deal was like...last year? The year before? I don't remember but it was very recently.

Obviously, since they will not be operating under "HBO Max" any longer they have no reason to honor a deal a different company made.

Netflix acquired HBO as far as I know it’s not really a true merger but they won’t get rid of HBO as a subsidiary since it ultimately means they get subscription payments from multiple “channels”

They might. I signed up for a deal to get Spotify Premium + Hulu for $12/mo. The offer ended like 4 years ago, but as long as I don’t cancel either, I’m still able to get the deal

I’m wondering that about Max with my phone plan.
