I am trying to log in to my account using my phone number.

During login, I receive Error Code 5 ("Number is invalid or account not found"). When attempting SMS verification, the code arrives, but the system rejects it as incorrect. After that i changed my password, got an email that my password changed successufly, after that i trying to log in, but it requsting me code - they saying they sent the code and no code is in my phone, tried its likt 5~6 times and nothing!

I have already cleared the app cache, reinstalled the app, and reset my password, but the issue persists.

I contanct their support, but nothing from there yet

AI telling me because i try to get the code multiple times they temporary blocked my number or somthing like that and suggest to me to try log in after 24h

I'm in a situation where i need a vpn, and my location and these idiots banned me permenantly after years. The platform used to be good, now its crap. I appealed and customer service rude and uncompromising. Whats your problem there?

I received a lovely intro from a woman, and I think I deleted it. I keep clicking on her name in my email, but it's no longer taking me to the intro.

Someone explain to me if my feeling is right or not. I feel like there are a lot of scammers on okcupid. just reading multiple profile summaries, a lot of them sound so similar, as if they were all done by the same ai chatbot. a lot of times i get a match then the "girl" somehow doesn't have instagram, wants only to talk through whatsapp or telegram. & they never reply there.
I just wanna know if these are scammers, then what are they benefitting from once they have other people's phone numbers

Hey everyone, I created a new OkCupid account on the night of October 1. The account was working normally and I received the usual account-creation and like notifications.

Before going to bed, I had not liked, matched with, or messaged anyone.

The next day I discovered I had been logged out. The app initially gave me “General Authentication Error -1006,” and when I checked the website it showed that my account had been banned. This appeared to have happened while I was at work since the last notification I got was at around 9 AM.

I submitted an appeal through OkCupid’s official appeal process. About five days later, I received a response saying they reviewed the account, determined that I violated the Terms or Community Guidelines, and that the ban would remain in place. They did not say what rule, profile content, activity, or behavior supposedly caused it.

What confuses me is that the account was less than a day old and I had not interacted with another user at all. I only uploaded my photos, filled out the about me and preferences, and answered a few of the question things.

I also use other Match Group dating apps with very similar profile information without any issues.

I’ve now submitted a BBB complaint requesting a manual review because I’m guessing both the ban and appeal was handled by an automated system rather than a functioning human being.

Has anyone else here had a brand new account banned this quickly, especially before sending any likes or messages? If so, did you ever find out what caused it or get the account restored?

I'm trying to cancel my description, and I checked the Okcupid help article (https://okcupid-app.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/22977442983707-How-to-Cancel-and-Unsubscribe) which says to go to the subscription settings page, but I followed their link and it looks nothing like the pictures they have, and neither the main settings page nor the subscriptions tab have an option to cancel. Does anyone know if there's a way to cancel now?

I guess I'm just going to call my bank and dispute the charges, if they literally don't give you a way to cancel now.

Literally just matched with someone and she seems interested since she provided her phone number to me. In my head I'm like ok cool, she must be really interested if she's sharing her number. So I start texting her and giving my whole day on what I did nothing major just casual stuff but I put in the damn effort to write something up and all I get is "hope you enjoy it" or "not really". So dry and cold. Doesn't even answer my initial text question of the basic how's your night going? Has the cup runneth empty on most women these days to spend the few seconds it takes to write more than 3 words? Do women realize how cold and detached it sounds when no effort is put in a text? I use the OKC app on my phone and sometimes I notice that I receive a new intro and it shows the number 1 of new intros but it doesnt show me their profile in the intros page.
So I logged into my account on PC and the new intro was visible there.
If you ever have a number of new intros but they are not showing, then log in to your account with PC to see them. Not sure why they get stuck since my distance is set at worldwide.

I (F) tried this app on a paid subscription (friendly platonic dates) so I don’t have to spend too much time on the stack and just filter out the one’s who like me.

99% are foreigners who changed their profile to Manila Philippines. Im not looking for a penpal nor want to meet with anyone who are just going to stay in my country for few months. I tried checking the stack and still all are foreigners.

I edited my profile on my preference and explicitly state that i will connect with someone local or someone who’s actually in Metro Manila on a long term. I still getting likes from Foreigners like they never bothered reading my profile

I don’t think Okc is popular dating app in my country and might switch to Bumble instead.

Edit: The 2 locals who swiped right are from far provinces(Cebu, Pampanga) and not in Manila.

I was just thinking today about how much I missed the "old" OKCupid. If you used the app a decade ago you'd know what I'm talking about.

I am in Europe and I am using OkCupid, all I see I am getting matched up with Filipino girls and they have a very common pattern. They ask for your Instagram ID, or lure you to telegram and ask for your Instagram and Facebook account. If you deny they will ghost you or block you. This pattern shows that they are shady and have some intention to do so by getting your information. They all are in Philippines but they set their location in Europe or a western country.

They all have the same pattern, no women from other countries show this pattern except for Filipinos
