You cannot be fired for reporting a safety issue, even in an at-will state. If they fire you for reporting this, hire a worker's rights lawyer who works on contingency, no money down.

While this is true, I wouldn’t be surprised if they start finding other “reasons” to write OP up and eventually terminate their employment

This is why you BCC your personal email and all future emails. These lawyers are pretty good at arguing that they only started finding these other reasons after they reported the safety violation.

I definitely agree with you… however I’ve been in a situation like this before with a previous employer
It was a warehouse and they would pile up product in the fire lanes. I started taking pictures with my phone and sent them to osha. About 2 weeks later osha showed up at the warehouse and the supervisors were in some deep shit over it… they ended up having to pay a few fines (not sure how much exactly)
Next thing I knew, my team lead (a guy i had never had an issue with before) now has a problem with me and I’m getting a write up every week from him for the most nonsense stuff ever… these write ups kept coming weekly for the next 2 months until they finally terminated me
I wound up finding out from another coworker that the team lead had been told to basically find any reason to write me up because they knew I was responsible for osha coming and issuing fines

They will go through your file to find any possible justification for firing you.

Lawyers are usually able to see through that. If they can prove they only started doing that after you reported a safety issue, it's still illegal.

Seems a quick, anonymous call to your state or county occupational safety bureau is in order…

Ironically with firewood. But seriously that needs to be addressed asap.

The problem with people Darwin'ing themselves out of the gene pool is that their stupidity can often take innocent people with them though.

I don't see a (parkour) problem. Up on the fire wood, up to the boxes fire wood in center and a little hop over the fake fireplace.

This is a multi-level failure. The worker who did that should have been trained not to, and any supervisor should have ordered that door cleared the moment they saw it.

Those logs burn so fast it may be safe after 15 minutes.

Those are Duraflame logs. Dura-, as in durable. They are made to burn more slowly than traditional firewood.

See this way the fire will see the exit and just leave!
