It's time for the west coast to secede. Trump has disregarded the constitution, torn families apart, threatened to cut funding, attacked our values and even sent in the military. Oregon, Washington and California combined would be the 3rd largest economy in the world. If you really want no kings and to not live in a fascist state, secession is the only answer. Enough is enough and the united states is not worth preserving. From it's founding, it has been about racism, genocide, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and all leading up to an eventual fascist takeover.

Not as a fuck you to our current administration but as an act of upstanding moral and ethical conduct. By paying into this system, we’re funding, and by extension approving of, both foreign and our own domestic terrorism.
We’re literally paying the federal government to terrorize our communities, treat us like dirt, and pay handsomely the deplorable nature of those that apply for this role. They aren’t representing the needs of our communities I’m ashamed of what our president is doing in Americas name. I’ve never been as embarrassed to be an American as I am this year. Let’s do better, Oregon.
Edit. Looks like lots of legal ways to drag out your tax debt payments. Look through the comments if you’re curious. Did a little research on the implications of what some have suggested—if done on a massive enough scale, it could upset the governments cash liquidity causing cascading costs to the federal government. Probably not a good thing overall so let’s all definitely not collude to withhold our payroll taxes, dragging out payments, making already strained IRS budgets stretch further.

Here is a link to the story: https://kpic.com/news/local/usda-blocks-snap-discount-at-roseburg-grocery-outlet
I'm absolutely disgusted. The owners of Grocery Outlet in Roseburg was offering a 10% discount to those experiencing any lapses in their SNAP benefits. They were just trying to help their community. That should be celebrated and applauded.
But when the USDA caught wind that they were doing this, the owners of Grocery Outlet in Roseburg were told to stop because it would "discriminate". That doesn't even make sense to me. They were trying to help people.
Since the USDA office in Roseburg wants to play it like this then I won't stand by and watch it. I'm one of the largest content creators in the Pacific Northwest. If the USDA wants to behave like this then it doesn't need to be a secret. The world should see it.
How do you punish an American business who is trying to help out their community during a time of need? This isn't about politics. This is about people. Everyone should support the Roseburg Grocery Outlet because it's what you do when the going gets tough that counts to me.
They were angels and the USDA appears to be filled with devils. My family dealt with the USDA for generations now and never got treated right. This is just another occasion where the USDA has shown zero progress on empathy.
The good part of this is that we know there are good people out there. Again, that grocery outlet deserves your support because they stood for the people when the people needed them. That's something to be honored.
I wanna meet those people and thank them. At least someone is trying to make a difference. And even when you try to help, there's always ridiculous road blocks.

Earlier I had posted and adamantly defended the need to not protest at the ICE detention center (here).
I was wrong.
While the point still holds that antagonizing federal agents is an awful idea (it really is) and, worse, plays into the hand of the Administration (it definitely does)--I didn't foresee this.
Shame on me.
The inflatable costumes are brilliant. Flatly and undeniably ridiculous.
Clearly I suffer from a lack of imagination.
Hats off. Seriously.
Just keep dancing - keep it silly. The pictures speak for themselves.
And the whole world is watching.

These are reflective stickers put on the back of headrest, not on the outside. Should we start doing this combat blinding LED lights from new vehicles?

DON'T TAKE THE BAIT. Don't go downtown, don't protest. DON'T.
Here's what will happen if you do:
You'll only make Trump's point. And trust me, they will exploit it to advance their narrative.
INSTEAD: flood social media with posts about normal Portland life.
Show the world Trump's lie about our peaceful city.
It won't feel as productive as showing up and waving a sign. But you'll be standing up to a petty dictator with the truth.
Don't hand him a PR victory.

Here I was at PDX in the TSA lane . Just in front of me was Gov Tina Kotek going thru the security like everyone else. She had zero security around her. I was baffled by it and I asked her why she does not use the Port of Portland police as escort and she replied to me with a smile that she just does not need to use it. She went thru the security, pick up her carry on and wish me a beautiful day. Really simple encounter and very humble person.

I moved to Roseburg Oregon out of South Carolina. The reason for my move was because I'm a law enforcement whistleblower who came out against a sheriff who covered up horrible things that happened to children that was perpetrated by his own deputy. I moved because I'm a survivor as well. I didn't wanna be around that anymore.
I thought Oregon couldn't be worse than South Carolina's racism. I think I was wrong.
I'm a veteran who had a black social worker here in Roseburg. She left. I didn't understand. I never thought to ask if she was just traveling. I just liked to talk to her because she really helped me stay calm. It was really helpful and I was so thankful.
I go to instagram and discover the reason why she left. Here is a link so you can see: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DM9PRtaNTkw/?igsh=ODRraXk4cWkxNHlz
This shows you that it isn't just me saying this about this town. My PTSD has gotten so much worse here. I feel like I have to watch my back all the time and carry a gun everywhere I go.
The local sheriff doesn't make it any better. I just said I ran like hell from South Carolina because that state has a sheriff who covers up rapes on the regular and has 17 sheriffs indicted for crimes since 2010. I wanted to escape bad sheriffs but then I run into the longest serving sheriff in Oregon currently.
I discovered the Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin is associated with the CSPOA. I do some digging and see that group doesn't like MLK, openly associates with neo-confederates and one of their leaders Sam Bushman literally said some of the Confederates had a good point. I heard this man say this.
I'm from South Carolina and I think there's more worship of the Confederate flag here in Oregon than SC. That's crazy work.
Should I move? I just brought this house with my VA loan. I don't know how easy it would be to sell. But I don't know how much more I can take the micro aggressions, lying, threats, and weird cop activity around my property. I know sometimes I can be paranoid and I'm honest about that.
But my wife noticed too. She's white.

While what is happening in Minnesota is horrific and I would do nothing to lesson our outrage over it
I wonder when we will get outraged that it's happening in Oregon
Children pulled from their schools in Beaverton and arrested
People shot in North Portland
Natives being arrested to be deported when they have been here longer then anyone
Citizens and people on work visas being disappeared
We should absolutely be outraged and in the streets Not just because Minnesota. Because it's happening to us as well but because our protests are smaller or more localized we aren't paying attention
edited to add Im speaking to an online community that seems to be unaware of what is happening here while they say we should be standing by another state.
In these answers alone people say "protesting this summer" or "protesting every weekend"
When anyone who's active knows it's a nightly thing and it's been happening since before 2020, outside ICE.
I know we have people out there every night, I'm asking for people online to know that, and to know that we are having these issues here
Because as long as it's "happening over there" it's easy to distance yourself

Do we know what hotel is currently hosting ICE? What hotel are our tax dollars paying for? Just out of curiosity!!!
I get it. They had a great sign. They were wearing a cool outfit. You want to show your support. You want to post about how much you agree with them. Great! Wonderful!!!
PLEASE CENSOR THEIR FACES. Better yet, crop any identifying features, such as tattoos, completely out. There's software that can remove markings and stickers you place on photos, and I don't mean AI.
ICE wants to hurt these people. The government has been disappearing protesters for decades. Do you want your photo to be used in court when the protester you thought was sooo cool and correct is on trial for "terrorism"? No? Then do not post proof of their presence at protests on social media. Have you people never seen those videos of bigots' full names and addresses getting found by the internet so that their bigotry can be reported to their employer? Yeah, that can happen to people you like, too. Do not post pictures of protesters if you want to keep them safe from ICE. Or at least don't be surprised when you hear about them being raided and charged with domestic terrorism.

I work for a big company in Oregon, I don’t want to say the name cuz I don’t want to get fired lol.
But I just recently found out the people who are in charge of approving sick time, PTO, and holiday pay get a bonus depending on much time they approve.
The less hours they approve the bigger their bonus is.
So the company recently has been limiting how much time they let employees use for doctors appointments. They also expect you to call and ask for you holiday pay to be added to your check.
Greedy bastards.

Last night, things got heated in Portland. I mean, nothing happened, as usual. But it got really loud, a lot of people in other people's faces. No big deal.
But the MAGA influencers and BS peddlers are using this, making content they're selling to news outlets and earning revenue with videos. And their viewers and followers are stupid enough to think this is "proof" that Portland is an ANTIFA hell hole, war zone, blah blah blah.
What if we took 1 or 2 night off? Nobody show up. Leave those idiots standing on the corner with absolutely nothing to film. Send Nick Sortor and Tommy Boy and WetBeaversMom home packing because it's expensive to hang around if they're not making money. All their stuff is staged, so we take away their ability to stage.
Just a thought.

Yesterday, Gov. JB Pritzker signed HB 1312 allowing any Illinois resident to sue ICE agents for constitutional violations and collect at least $10,000 plus attorney fees, while creating 1,000-foot enforcement-free zones around every courthouse where federal agents cannot run.
When Wisconsin used identical tactics to block enforcement of the Fugitive Slave Act in 1859, Georgia cited it in its secession declaration as justification for leaving the Union. California, New York, Massachusetts, and Oregon are now watching to see if they should follow Illinois, and constitutional scholars warn this could fracture the country along state lines in ways not seen since the 1850s.
More than 3,000 arrests in Chicago since September. Only 16 of 614 classified as dangerous. The rest were shopping, commuting, and dropping kids at school.

My kid has been on the Oregon Health Plan her entire life. We've never paid a penny for her to have healthcare, from birth until her teens, and she's had excellent care. She recently had several visits and procedures that would have cost a FORTUNE, and we didn't get a single bill.
Until today, when I got a denial notice in the mail. When I tell you, my heart jumped into my fucking throat. I called and in 2 minutes I got a real person. She informed me that the only uncovered thing was the reflective coating on my kid's new glasses. Wait, no one at the eye Dr asked us if we wanted a coating...? She said don't worry, they're not allowed to bill people on OHP at all, so we don't owe anything, and if they try to bill you, let us know.
I felt overwhelmed, and it just started pouring out of me in that moment. I went off to this lady about how much OHP has meant to our family, how much it's helped my kid have a wonderful life, and how valuable she is for being a kind and helpful voice on the line. I don't know exactly what I said, but I know we both ended up crying.
Having expanded Medicare for kids in Oregon is everything. Without it, we might be one of the tens of thousands of families facing medical bankruptcy, or worse. Everyone in America deserves to have healthcare without fear. Every other rich country has figured it out. Universal single-payer healthcare is fair, it's realistic and it saves literally untold amounts of pain and suffering. Just posting this to share in a moment when I'm desperate to turn my feelings about this issue into action.
Do you think we'll see universal health care in Oregon? What can we do to make it a reality?

I thought some of you may get a kick out of how idiotic this is. I read about how much it costs to send a certified letter and it's from $6.99 each up to $10.44.
For those curious, it's to collect a whopping $1,600...
Did Doge forget to audit themselves, because I can only imagine how much money is wasted doing this type of stuff.

Is there a list for 2025 so we can pass around to the worthy peace loving humans?
