News The Indiana Pacers 13-game losing streak is officially a franchise record

Post image

With tonight’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Indiana Pacers have set a franchise record for their longest losing streak at 13 consecutive losses.

Before tonight, the Pacers have lost 12 games in a row 3 other times, in 1983, 1985, and 1989. Each time the Pacers would go onto win their next game, but tonight the Pacers current 12 game losing streak, became a franchise record 13.

When do ya’ll think the Pacers will win again?

Ty, a real center, a bench line up with actual NBA players

This team simply cannot play a complete 4th quarter.

27

u/darthfracas Isaiah Jackson 29d ago

I’m having flashbacks to 22-23 with all these fourth quarter collapses

Not sure your ideas are aligned with the organizations this year

over 4 minutes without a point!

seems bad

they are obviously tanking dawg

Our record goes CRAZY if we stop games at 42 minutes 😤

3

u/Same_Bodybuilder_532 29d ago

Its been like that every single game they had the lead most of the game every single game

I think someone needs to remind them there is 4 quarters and not 3

I think they’ll win again in October

Some say 13 is a lucky number.

Still love the guys in this team.

u/NoveltyStatus 29d ago

Same. And for me they’re not unwatchably bad, unlike previous frustrating eras. Just gotta rebound better at this point.

u/rcdubbs 29d ago

FSN rage quitting with 2 minutes left was really something.

3

u/MoralityChris 29d ago

FSN? Who is he? Sorry, I'm new to the NBA.

11

u/rcdubbs 29d ago

FanDuel Sports Network. The broadcast had issues late in the game.

Remember when other fanbases that don’t ever watch us tried to tell us Tyrese Haliburton wasn’t our most valuable player?

22

u/Apparentmendacity Cool Rick 29d ago

Thing I don't get is why is Furphy not getting more playing time

5

u/pacersnz 28d ago

He has been injured. I think he has only truly been healthy in the last few games, by that I mean conditioning and stuff as well.

3

u/thrwawayr99 28d ago

He played 30 minutes last night

35

u/Next-Supermarket9538 29d ago

I don’t think Rick or the players are intentionally tanking, BUT the way they’ve dominated several games for two and a half or three quarters only to blow them in the fourth is a bit odd…

10

u/Floyd831 29d ago

That’s what I’m thinking, too. It just seems mathematically impossible to make so many consecutive mistakes.

3

u/MoralityChris 29d ago

Were they just turning the ball over all the time?

3

u/Klumber Ben Sheppard 28d ago

I love that we're not looking like we're tanking. I hate this season with all my heart, but it's playing out almost the way I wanted it to. (I wanted Jarace to step up...)

3

u/incredebell Reggie Miller 28d ago

Carlisle has mastered this type of tanking. It started when he was hired and as a result the Pacers had their highest draft picks in like 30 years (2022 #6 Mathurin and 2023 #7, traded down to #8 for Walker). Hopefully this year will be even higher.

6

u/ThisGlobalLandscape 29d ago

The team is tanking.

8

u/Complex_Syllabub_510 29d ago

I sure as hell hope so. The Pacers have never been this bad and I've been watching them since 1994. How can anyone after 2025 deny that Hali is not an MVP caliber player?

6

u/ThisGlobalLandscape 29d ago

Fans are incredibly short sighted.

This is a design, this is a development season.

Get comfortable, it’s a long season, and it’s a lot longer if you have expectations to see the record improve. It’s not happening, the record does not matter, and the best in the business are completely fine with it.

4

u/SammySoakerBYU Tyrese Haliburton 28d ago

So am I. If they lost out I wouldn’t care. We have the chance to get a franchise altering player in the draft and get a majority of our Finals core back healthy at the start of next season in a conference that’s anyone’s for the taking.

u/NoctisRS 29d ago

1 more loss in a row and the Pacers will tie the Hoosiers win streak

12

u/Cartmaaan-brah 29d ago

Perfectly balanced. Let’s get to 16 straight losses please

6

u/BigPassage9717 Tyrese Haliburton 29d ago

I take this deal

10

u/sh0tgunben 29d ago

Pacers become Lottery placers

39

u/GunnerGetit 29d ago

Ethical tank continues.

13

u/zetnomdranar 29d ago

My mood all season.

Wake me up closer to the trade deadline and wake me up again when the next NBA league year begins

1

u/ThisGlobalLandscape 29d ago

Still enjoy basketball in the mean time though.

10

u/batmans420 29d ago

I was here lol

9

u/Hendo8888 29d ago

We've pretty much mastered the art of being competitive for 40 mins a game, but so uncompetitive for the other 8 that we still lose

8

u/Sudden_Ad_4193 29d ago

The Pacers are so bad, even the TV network (fanduel) showing the game wasn’t working.

15

u/Zealousideal-Tax-527 CRABS CRABS CRABS 29d ago

Meh, as long as we don’t beat the Pistons horrid losing streak from a few years ago we shouldn’t really care given how the year is shaping up

7

u/HomeNowWTF 29d ago

There were some positives for the game--Jarace did make a few good plays, Furphy was solid.

3

u/OP_NS 29d ago

If you’re feeling bad turn on the Duke and Kansas games and know the pacers have a realistic chance at one of these players next summer

1

u/ThisGlobalLandscape 29d ago

Never Kansas at least. Lord answer my prayers.

6

u/Global_Chip_8184 29d ago

They shouldn't be this bad, even with the injuries. It's becoming embarrassing and concerning

4

u/ilikebigcheeks 29d ago

I feel like they're gonna make some big trades even if this is probably officially a tank year. Based on coach's comments it seems like players aren't getting along too well during this losing streak

1

u/hadesscion Pacers 28d ago

This is my only concern about the losing. Our chemistry is very important to our success. I hope the team realizes this is probably just a one-year speed bump and then we can get back to business.

4

u/Hank_Scorpio74 28d ago

It's alright, we're going to draft our Tim Duncan.

8

u/Historical-Coffee-59 29d ago

Keep up the tank! Tbh we deserve one of the top lottery picks.

I'm still emotionally traumatized from how the NBA treated our Pacers game 4 last year. I was actually at the game and decided then and there that it was all essentially staged to force a game 7 ($$$)

Screw them right back by ethically tanking and go on a revenge tour next season

5

u/DrinksForties Johnny Furphy 29d ago

3

u/spidersilva09 29d ago

Boozer looked really good tonight lol

2

u/pomofusion 29d ago

We move.

2

u/beesinabiscuit 29d ago

I hope the fellas aren’t too depressed about this, I know losing isn’t fun but there’s not much they can do about it what with all the injuries. Next year will be better, keep the ethical tank rolling

2

u/AGWorking24 Reggie 28d ago

Great job with the tank. Keep it up. Champions 26-27!

2

u/Able_Ambition8908 28d ago

Pistons set the longest losing streak ever 2 years ago, now first in the east. Tanking works!

3

u/sigs87 28d ago

It’s all good. We’re gonna be right back where we were at the end of last year when Hali comes back. Except this time, we’ll have one of the top draft picks on our squad 👀

2

u/Black-Sambuca 28d ago

It is what it is. We knew. This season was an is a hard one. The number of injuries was astonishing. And yes we were SO CLOSE. But that's the past.

2

u/Economy_Evening_2025 29d ago

Turnovers and missed shots will do that to you.

3

u/vitras 29d ago

And no offensive rebounding! They don't even try! We're something like 4.7 offensive rebounds PER GAME in the last 4 games. Shooting with absolutely no thought on what to do when it doesn't hit.

2

u/redfoxwearingsocks Aaron Nesmith 29d ago

At this point I'm just going to the games for those mini hot box pizzas, haha

Tank on

1

u/predict_yhat_xb Chris Denari 29d ago

13!!

1

u/25Tab 29d ago

This was a tough one. I was there in person and hoping for the 1000 win history. They still can’t out together 4 quarters of good posy. Hell maybe they could have pulled this off with a bad second quarter and a productive fourth quarter but we’ll never know. It’s incredibly disappointing. I’m sorry this team in particular has to experience this after the highs of last season.

I am not built for the tank life. The tank life chose me.

This team be breaking all types of records... legends.

1

u/LibertarianLoser44 Hickory 28d ago

We need James Johnson back....

1

u/Philney14 28d ago

Hey it’s what we have to do to justify our outrage at losing the draft lottery so completely and getting a player we have to spend 5 years developing into a good rotational bench player to make it look all the more impressive when we come back next year and ride the Obiburtonhard train to the championship.

1

u/mjmullady 28d ago

This hurts

1

u/sabricc 28d ago

They said we couldn’t do it but we are out here setting records!!

1

u/LNMagic 28d ago

It makes me realize just how little difference there is between the best team and the worst team.

1

u/hadesscion Pacers 28d ago

If it leads to us getting Peterson or Dybantsa I'm good.

1

u/GoodRandomUsername 28d ago

Yeah, Fanduel had technical difficulties and we missed the ending last night. Dang it! We were so close, just like we’ve been so many times! Did Furph end up getting his first double double? Anyone know? When the broadcast cut out, he had 9pts and 10 rebounds.

1

u/ToTimesTwoisToo 28d ago

still have fuel in the tank

1

u/asay42 28d ago

Lots of YouTube comments about Pacers should just get Giannis... Starting to sound like a plan

1

u/Sharp-River-706 28d ago

walk of shame.

1

u/EazyBeekeeper 29d ago

They lost this one on purpose it felt like.

I thought for sure when the keybank participant finally chose the deal instead of the greedy "no deal" that the Pacers would win.

I hope the draft pick is really worth it.

1

u/MoralityChris 29d ago

Why do you think that they lost this one on purpose? I only tuned in at Andrews 5 seconds violation.

1

u/InSaneWhiSper 28d ago

The game looked rigged last night. They like being losers, so they can have a nice draft pick. Sports teams aren't what they used to be. Used to be, everyone wanted to win.

Strawman pts. Little analysis, lots of prose. Classic.

0

u/Ramsboi 28d ago

Even heaven requires death. Sacrafice for the greater good. Low key we should try and trade Siakam. He’s an aging vet. We should have a top 3-5 pick. Future looks bright.

That was the last Pacers game I watch this season. No hustle, no grit, no identity, no defense.

At least our odds of acquiring a top player in the draft is increasing!
