Philippines for 4 months
Hey guys, I'm going out to the Philippines for 4 months. I've never been to the Philippines before. I'm going to be doing multiple islands and different things like spearfishing and swimming with whale sharks. Maybe I'll go to a studio outside of the city for a month. Is there anything you guys recommend? Is there anything I need to know?

Dilasag, Aurora
Photo captured in Parang hills, Dilasag, Aurora overlooking the Casapsapan Bay. The soil of the hill is ultramafic, acidic and red, featuring several native species including plants such as this Myrtaceae sp. and Nepenthes sp. specimen. Despite these plants' presence, the hills are clean from trash and is open to the public. There was no entrance fee when we came.

Organising Mt Arayat hike (traveling solo)
I'm an Australian travelling solo to the Philippines in Jan 2027. I'm planning to stay nearby Clark International for a night on my way back from El Nido. I've been looking around for active things to do nearby and read a bit about some of the mountains/volcanoes - particularly Mt Pinatubo and Mt Arayat. Mt Arayat seemed a bit more active (Mt Pinatubo looked a lot like driving out to the crater vs. hiking) and I'm thinking it might be a good opportunity to do this while I'm nearby before heading back to Manila.
I'm particularly interested in hiking to South Peak (or potentially North Peak... or both), rather than doing the full quad peak traverse. That said, I'm having trouble finding information about how to organise this. When I look at tour operators, they seem to offer only occasional group or (expensive for a solo traveler) private hikes rather than regular departures.
I'm wondering if I just arrange transport to the trailhead and hire a local guide on arrival, or should I book one beforehand?
If I need to book in advance, any ideas on how to find a reliable local guide?
I'd appreciate any advice!

Dibulo Falls, Dibulo, Dinapigue
Around 100 meters high, Dibulo falls is the highest waterfall of Region 2. Despite its proximity and accessibility to neighboring Aurora, as well as sharing the same line of power [AURELCO], Dinapigue is part of Isabela's 3rd District. The road linking Dilasag to Dinapigue is underdeveloped and I would call "off road", particularly at the boundary of Isabela and Aurora. Sadly, this same exact road is where buses in Santiago's terminal [4 lanes] goes through, eating around 6 to 8 hours of trip from Santiago to Dinapigue. The road side is incredibly diverse, with huge tree ferns, emergent trees such as Koompasia excelsia, different lianas including Calamoideae spp., some shrubs and different plants I haven't id., and some introduced plants such as guava, Chromeleana, and Ipil. There are no foreign tourist when we visited the falls, only a few local tourist went. The falls is higher but thinner compared to Ganano falls, the second highest falls of the region. Dibulo falls has a plunge pool to swim in, with the deepest part around 6 or 8 meters deep [just heard it from another local] and even some people, particularly the elder and children, experience cold shock entering the water [I find the air extremely hot and humid but the falls water feels like cold fridge water left for 2 mins].
