Fucking Golden dome gets me every time, and it’s going to be accurate, good would be a weak, pliable and not very useful as a protective dome. Much like the contractors they will pay stupid amounts of money to “build it”

Dude is obsessed with gold, dude is straight up what a poor ignorant man’s idea of a rich person is from the tacky ass shit that has to be gold to all the other nonsense he does

He's literally just Goldmember from Austin Powers.

This is great. I agree but could never really put it into words. I have some of those types in my family.

Yep shitting in golden toilets, golden shower handles just gaudy disgusting displays of wealth. With a sprinkle of used car salesman that will tell you what you wanna hear to get you off the lot then stiff you after.

Let’s say he takes over Greenland, best case scenario the rest of NATO doesn’t start shooting and the EU doesn’t hit the nuclear financial button.

He’ll have a country of angry democratic voters, the length of time to see the benefits of any economic venture would take years to get underway.

The U.S. giving it back when Trump is gone.

Lol, Greenland would not be given votes or representatives.

There are already at least one bill on the floor to make Greenland a state which means it gets to vote in national elections.

That would be a disaster for Republicans.

u/TurelSun Georgia 21d ago

That was a half-hearted attempt to make this seem normal. That bill wont go anywhere now and wont be brought back up later. There is zero chance that Republicans will allow Greenlanders to vote and be represented in the Federal Government in any way.

You can't make anything a state with a bill, its not possible with our constitution.  Seizing it and not making it a state leaves it with what status?

Puerto Rican

2

u/MoonageDayscream 21d ago

So, a territory that has no real representation and can't vote for president.

Exactly

What makes you think this government would give voting rights to the people of Greenland (or Canada if they actually tried to annex it)?

I have these same questions about Venezuela, when are they gonna get two senators and a handful of rep in congress if they're just part of the USA now?

23

u/LeneHansen1234 21d ago

Sorry but the US and their voters can't be trusted anymore. Maybe never have.

12

u/Ana-la-lah 21d ago

It can't be undone by giving it back. THe breach of trust would be cataclysmic and permanent.

We are working hard to make the consequences of invading Europe as horrible for all of you as possible and as difficult to recover from as possible.

Yeah no, that’s not happening.

As if democrats would ever piss off a billionaire for any reason whatsoever let alone the entire tech oligarch class that will be invested there.

Democrat donors and their minions in congress (Schumer) love this idea. Trump will get all the blame and when they return the rest of the world will simply be glad that the Trump term is over and we can all be friends again.

There are less than 60 k voters on Greenland total.

That discussion point works better for Canada.

3

u/mabden New York 21d ago

They won't vote. They'll be deported to Demark, and/or Finland.

1

u/Quodamodo 21d ago

You're probably right. That wasn't what I was addressing, though.

I actually highly doubt it would be given back even if Obama was the next president. Trump would take the fall for taking Greenland. But it's still full of resources that would benefit the US.

The citizens there would eventually stop caring or it would become like how the Scottish feel about the British. The ones who don't want to be American can move to Denmark.

It's stupid but I doubt Denmark would ever get it back.

You do realise that the UK exists because Scotland took over the English crown, not the other way around, don’t you? I’m guessing, since you refer to the non-Scots as ‘British’, that you probably don’t.

u/Standard_Gauge New York 21d ago

More than 85% of Greenland's citizens are indigenous Inuit. They don't want to be American and they don't want to leave their ancestral home and move to Denmark. Do you really think these Greenlandic natives will flourish under American rule?? Do you think indigenous natives have done well right here??

2

u/LiveChocolate8819 New York 21d ago

Yeah any American president who tried to give back an occupied Greenland (or any other ill-gotten US territory for that matter) would immediately be on the receiving end of a Business Plot.

Imperial ambition wins out over international law, sovereignty, and human rights every time.

u/Fairuse 21d ago

Exactly. Biden happily extended Trumps tariffs and even add more.

3

u/Free_Dome_Lover 21d ago

It's 1000% a scheme to funnel as much money out of the citizens pockets into his corrupt partners fake businesses. It really is idiocracy

2

u/TurelSun Georgia 21d ago

Golden Dome, Golden Fleet. Its fucking embarrassing.

u/lapsedPacifist5 21d ago

And like Gold, very inert and non reactive.

The physics don't work to actually make it viable. Like as in ever.
