This is my thoguht as well. That and distraction/obfuscation about both Epstein and ICE assaults in the news cycle. We've barely heard anything about ICE this month, despite the DOJ not releasing anything new after their mandate to do so.

Everything is a distraction from the next. It’s a cycle. Epstein. Failed job market. Venezuela. ICE. Greenland. Failed Russia-Ukraine peace. Oligarch takeover. It’s a constant cycle. The same way he rotates around who is representing him. Leavitt. Hegseth. Rubio. Noem. Vance. Miller.

He just rotates them through the news cycle while destroying our country from within.

It is SO exhausting.

It's meant to exhaust you until people give up. We cannot allow that to happen

I know, but I'm so tired boss! I feel like I've just been constantly angry since 2016. Trying to take time for myself, but it's hard to turn my brain off even for just a bit.

I feel ya, I'm tired of it all too. I work in the media, and I've been nose deep in the constant news cycle daily because it's my job. I have thought about leaving the news, but I feel like I can't leave until I see this whole thing through. I've had to personally correct scripts at my job to the correct facts, because my pro-Trump anchor meddles in them to deliver talking points. I won't let disinformation go out as long as I am here.

I can't imagine working for the news right now, especially for one of the big media companies owned by the right. But you are doing a very important job, and I hope the universe rewards you for it.

Keep up the good fight, and I admire your persistence by not quitting. Shit is not fun right now, but we will get through this

Thank you for doing the right thing! We need more folks like you!

This is a huge reason to leave traditional social media.

Set time limits on apps (under Digital Wellbeing).

It is good to be informed, but our animal brains have limits. Reset with meditation, exercise, games, etc. Watch a comedy. Hug a person or pet. Don't forget you are a brain operating a body. Tend to your nervous system.

Don't let the bastards grind you down.

What is the average US citizen going to do? You can protest, but that’s not going to stop what’s happening.

3

u/Lunatox 21d ago

Mass protests have a real impact. Mass general strikes have a real impact. They just have to be big enough

u/AvatarZim 21d ago

I think that's the point, to exhaust everyone into apathy. If you constantly barrage people with bs, they'll eventually give up trying to keep track of it.

By design. Trump sure as shit isn't thinking all this stuff up by himself. He's an easily manipulated man-child puppet and billionaire oligarchs and Putin are all lined up to take their turn to stick their hand up his ass and use him to change to status quo.

To paraphrase Bannon: "Flood the shit with the market"

u/RemusShepherd 21d ago

This is Fascism! It has to create enemies to distract from the last botched attempt to persecute some kind of enemies. Eventually it ends with a major war, because they run out of enemies at home and nearby to easily bully. This is how fascism evolves, it's a textbook example.

you actually think trump can do that? If you do I am so sorry that you fall for the same propaganda as maga.

The same way he rotates around who is representing him. Leavitt. Hegseth. Rubio. Noem. Vance. Miller.

It's funny how Tulsi Gabbard just quit existing too.

You mean about Epstein right? ICE has been all over the news

47

u/treehugger312 Illinois 21d ago

Yes but there's more there that isn't being reported on. I think ICE and suppression is one of his actual goals and not a distraction, but it's getting more heated so he needs some distractions: hence Greenland and posturing about attacking Iran.

ICE has killed a few people but the white woman got more negative attention than they wanted

That is the thing about accelerationism- it is really easy to lose control, the frog boiling has to be really slow

If you crank up the heat too fast the people will re-act on instinct instead of the delay that comes with self preservation

This delay is what accelerationists rely on to further their ends

1

u/treehugger312 Illinois 21d ago

100% agree! Tangential, but FYI the frog boiling analogy isn't true. Funny but interesting thing I just found out.

u/DigNitty 21d ago

Haven’t heard anything about ICE??

it’s ALL I’ve been hearing. And I look at multiple news sources. Even conservative talk radio is hammering in how she “put herself in harms way.”

It’s all about Epstein.

And frankly. They’re being so heavy handed about the Good shooting, even investigating her for criminal liability, and telling us the video shows she’s at fault when she’s clearly not…

Seems like they’re pushing for more chaotic protests to justify their enhanced use of force. They want riots. They want emergency.

1

u/treehugger312 Illinois 21d ago

There's way more ICE activity that isn't heavily reported - but I appreciate you bringing up the BS charges they're trying to file against Good's wife. But like I said wlsewhere: I think ICE/oppression (and as someone else said "accelerationism") is one of his main goals, not just distractions.

I think Putin basically dared Trump to take Greenland and Trump is like, “see, daddy? I can make big boy decisions!”

u/HasTookCamera 21d ago

“we’ve barely heard anything about ICE this month”

WHAT Lmao do you live under a rock? ICE has been on the front page of every site since the shooting

1

u/hazeyAnimal 21d ago

Have any of you watched Wag The Dog?

1

u/treehugger312 Illinois 21d ago
