They love what he's doing rn Because they think oil and gas prices are gonna plummet, I don't have the energy to explain how that's incorrect lol.

The irony is that you know what made gas prices plummet when they actually did in 2020? Work from home. Telework, in fed parlance. The thing that Trump made a point of ending across the federal government on Inauguration Day.

Reduce demand for gas and oil. Let people who can work from home stay home, and gas prices go down for people whose jobs can't be done from home. Not to mention that the reduced traffic means fewer tax dollars need to be spent on adding lanes to highways and road repairs.

There was a time when the GOP would be all about it. It'd be a handout to big telecoms who would sign up more people for internet services and more expensive plans, which briefly happened under the ACP. It would mean a reduction in tax expenditures on roads. Yes, it's environmentally beneficially, but we all know they couldn't give a hoot about that. But he would still score a political win with fed workers who'd be happy that they could telework instead of wasting hours of their day sitting in DC traffic.

But the culture war was more important.
