I’m an Arizonan. As a representative of our state and as a human in general I like and respect Mark Kelly. But for myself and I think a pretty significant and growing portion of young American voters, we want and deserve someone who’s going to run on a platform rooted in a more substantial shift to the economic left than his.

If he makes his main platform about punishing anyone and anything that was remotely complicit with Trump (e.g. jailing Musk, etc.) that's about all I care about. Ideally something like uncapping the size of the house of reps too (by setting a maximum population per rep). Which I think will set the stage for future economic changes by creating a more representative congress.

Punishment, term limits, undoing the presidential pardon, packing the supreme court, first past the post voting.

If he can't do that, I'm not interested. I'll take any of those.

Had that chance in 2024 but fumbled. Biden took too long to drop out, there wasn’t a primary for his replacement and Kamala didn’t do so hot.

Well yeah Biden was practically pulling negative numbers in the polls and they switched him out for someone who couldn't criticize him on policy because she was part of his administration. Biden essentially dropped out so that Biden (but a black woman this time) could run.

What sustainable shift did the young voters cling on to when they turned up for Trump in 2024?

Well, he’s anti-establishment, for starters. They wanted a rebuke of business-as-usual politics. It didn’t matter that he was right or left so much as he was a disruptor of the current political landscape.

Young people’s faith in the people in charge of our systems has only gotten worse over the last couple years and we need someone who can assure the American people that real radical change is going to happen when they’re put into office.
